Just bought a 2014 trd offroad. V6 4.0. I just calculated my mpg. 10 mpg? City driving with air on. Is this possible?

It should be better unless you were off-roading or towing or just beating on it.

    I get 15 city driving.

How far did you drive? Short trips can be misleading. For a few miles depending on road conditions I've gotten single digit mpg and I've gotten as much as 36 mpg on other stretches of road. But over all I'm in the 17-18ish mpg for my normal everyday driving. Very little true city driving, but a mix of small town and rural 2 lane. Hwy mileage is 18-20 depending on how fast I drive.

Doesn't seem right. The worst I have seen out of my 2014 is 16.4, and that was all city with a good amount of idling mixed in. I was helping a buddy move and pretty much let the truck run the entire time while loading/unloading. Normal driving I get 18-19 consistently.

I average 16-18 now and that's with heavy load range E KO2's. I'm usually driving 75-80 on the highway too which drops it down.
I also tend to idle a lot with the AC on as well so that is another thing against my mileage

Did you calculate based on the number of gallons that you filled with, or the maximum tank capacity? I have never seen below 15mpg

I was caught off guard too. My first tank when I got the truck was 14.5 and my 2nd tank was 13.8. I am real conscious of it now and my mpg has gone up over the next 3 tanks. Filled up today and got 15.8. Never thought that # would excite me.

The absolute worst I've gotten in regular driving was in the neighborhood of 16mpg, and I regularly sit around 18

Good driving habits will take you far.... well... further...

Seems low even for city driving. Time for a tune-up.

I went on a long distance trip this past week, used the cruise control set at 70 and got 21mpg. Click on my fuelly banner below. I do fuelly every time I get gas.

Of course it's possible. You just did it. o_O

Is it right or normal? Not really.

I suspect a calculator error. Run a dozen tanks, calculate precisely, average the results, then see how you're doing.

I agree w the comments on the tune up. If your truck is running 'normal' tires/wheels and isn't modded, 15 mpg is low for city driving imo. Search this forum, tons of stuff on this. Good luck and congrats on the '14 OR! Awesome truck!

If your truck is stock, something is wrong to be getting that poor of gas mikeage.
