I live less than an hour from the Mexican border, there is a taco truck or Mexican restaurant on every corner. I've already placed an order for a breakfast burrito for tomorrow morning...

Oh there is another that I almost forgot about. This is an upscale fast food restaurant that has the best ingredients and the marinade they use on their Carne Asada is awesome.
Now what's weird about this place that gets long lines and has great food at a good price is that it is located in a gas station. I would have never known about it if someone hadn't taken me there before.
Now any time I in in Burbank I stop by Celantro Mexican Grill. Oh they put cinnamon on the chips which is cool and different.

I live in south texas, so every place has tacos just depends on what kind of taco you want. Fish and shark tacos are my favorite, then there is a whole bunch of breakfast tacos, then ground turkey, beef or lamb tacos, you get the idea.

on occasion I do make spaghetti tacos which were inspired by a dream I had one night.

It is nice here. You have the Mountains and then you have the coast.
North of here you can have rough Winters. And South of here hot Summers. We be happy medium...

I hear ya on growing up without much money. We did too. I can now afford anything I want to eat but you know something. The cheap things we had to eat like beans and taters, fried cabbage and greens are some of the best food I can think of. Even now I fix some of the things I use to cook when 1st out on my own. Stuff like pasta noodles "cooled" with ranch dressing "pasta salad my version anyways". The cheap boxed pizza by Chef Boyardee and homemade Cornbread thrown in a glass of milk.
Those things cost almost nothing but are better in my book than a $45 steak....

I put leftover spaghetti in a warm tortilla. Sounds weird but its good :)
I like the Government cheese quesadilla. Also my mom wasnt the best cook but she made some kind of "homemade" pasta noodle but it was like a mix between a dumpling and pasta, unfortunately she never wrote the recipe down before she passed away and I still remember and miss that dish.

OH Lord....I hadn't thought about Government cheese on years. We use to go get it at the National Guard Armory when they were giving it away.

    Sorry about your Mother.

I love Spaetzle, good no matter what you do. I like just butter, pepper, and Parmesan.
