I knew he was pro gun because I'm sure we've all seen those lists, but yeah, I didn't realize he was a three gun speadfreak!

Better to ask what I have not done.
I have one on the 223 and the 458 that i love but the one on the blackout sucks as it does not catch on empty like you are saying. The only difference between them is the parts kit that the 223 and 458 came from are dpms and the blackout is aero

Things. Stuff. Lots of bad decisions.

I've built a few AR's over the past couple years for various types of shooting

This was the first AR I built. It all started when I was poking around a gun shop for a daily carry pistol when I noticed someone had marked a black rain ordnance billet upper and lower combo for $180. I did the paperwork, paid cash, and hauled ass out of there before someone realized It was seriously underpriced. I rounded up the other parts and torqued the barrel in the garage a week later. It's usually around 1.5 MOA and I'm good with that. Built during the peak of the scare.

    First day complete

Carbine competition set up after cerakote and a few parts swaps

I've also built a couple SBR's (yes I have the tax stamps...) for helicopter feral hog eradication and competition shooting. This one is Noveske receivers and barrel, Guissele trigger, an Adams Arms piston kit and some vltor hand guards still dusty from derkaderkastan. The thing runs like a Swiss watch and I love only having to clean the bolt face. A couple passes with the bore snake and it looks new.

Thought I'd like this MP5 style stock a lot more but the thing was stupid heavy.

SBR I built for my dad - spikes, CMC, Troy, aimpoint

I like the bays at The Bullet Hole, SA. Good shade and they let you move around quite a bit as long as your not being a jackass about it.

Painting mine with aluma-hyde II (Magpul FDE) today. 10-14 days to cure? F that. 3.5 hours at 195 sounds like a much better option.

Nope. Don't even notice any funny smells.

It was close, but I think the alumahyde has more of a grey to it.

How good does that DD stock shoulder? Comfortable? Solid cheek rest? Trying to decide if I should stick with my MFT min. or swap to a grey DD.

BAD lever's great for milspec lowers, doesn't work for oversized lowers though and some uppers with no cutout. I've tested the Troy one as well and it works great with milspec lowers too. The only one that works good with oversized lowers is the Tactical Link EBAL. Unfourtunatly Tactical Link hasn't had them in stock for a while, I don't think there making them anymore. I was planning on using my EBAL for my oversized lower but my upper doesn't have the cutout, I'm in the process of modifying my Troy one to attach using screws instead of the back plate that usually holds it on.

Dammit, if only yours was the tornado grey version I would 100% trade, I've literally just test fitted the MFT that's it. The problem I may have is the width of the MFT may be too much, I've got a LT series 3 folding stock adapter and the MFT may be to wide to sit flush the upper and lower when folded.

Can someone recommend a decent set of irons? Nothing crazy expensive, just a solid set. I'm used to AK irons, so nothing crazy that glows and stuff haha!
