I was organizing some paperwork today and was taking a look at my truck paperwork from the dealership. I then realized that ALL of the paperwork states that I am leasing a 2017 SR5...when what I actually have is an SR.

Now I'm no expert, but I feel like there's something to be done here when I don't have the truck that is stated on my paperwork.

    Someone please help!

    Does the vin match up?

As long as the VIN is correct then you are fine.

The VIN matches yes...so what its just a typo by the dealer? I feel like I paid for an SR5 and got an SR.

What is the MSRP on your paperwork and what options are shown.

MSRP looks like $32,000...can't find any paperwork where the options are listed.

I know I've got towing, convenience, and it came with the door sill protectors and predator tube steps.

In business, this is called bait in switch. The VIN# match, so it's probably a typo. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Hmm...pricing it out on Toyota's website, I paid for what I got. I'm just confused why all the paperwork states SR5.

Looking at that price I would agree that you paid for an SR, if you have 4x4 and tow package. The VIN matches and price looks to be in reason, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm not sure about leasing but my VIN always pulls up as a Pro in the toyota database when I actually have an OR

Just a guess, but maybe they had a better "deal" to lease a SR5 models, that's why they put SR5 into paperwork to justify your lower price? Or a typo

Here in our contracts class today, the main lesson is to read everything before you sign, not just what is pushed in front of you.

That said, our client example likely has nothing to fret over, human error being the likely culprit.

So how do we help him sleep well during the lease term?

Those who answered to have a simple face to face with the leasing dealer as the recommended remedy all get a A on today's quiz.
