Anyone here with one of the following colors and have any pro's/con's of each?

    Nautical Blue
    Super White
Silver Streak Metallic (the lighter one)
    Pyrite Mica

And anyone have any complaints regarding the manual vs. auto debate?

Long story short, I really want to pull the trigger on a Nautical Blue TRD Sport but was planning on going with an auto... this one is an MT. How's the gearing? Pretty forgiving or clunky and painful when highway driving or city driving?

I like my Silver pretty well.

The transmission seems to be a matter of personal preference. I'm told that the auto is better for rock crawling but I've never done any so I like my manual quite well. Some dont like the manual in stop and go traffic but I wouldnt trade it for an auto. If you read through the forum you might start to notice that there seems to be more problem associated with the auto transmission in the long run. I always jokingly say "I dont know how to drive an auto and I dont want to learn" but it's mostly cuz I've driven the manual throughout my entire 50+ years of driving.

I like my black Tacoma but the natural pin-striping sure shows up from a mile away. I MIGHT get a white truck if I could rewind time.

I like my silver... some say it's a "boring" color, but it's very easy to maintain and doesn't show dust and scratches that bad. The car I sold before I bought my Taco was dark blue metallic, and while I loved the color, it was a constant challenge to keep looking good. Also, I'm in the South, and dark colored vehicles here get super hot when sitting in the sun.

My only complaint about the 5spd auto in the Taco is that it shifts into 5th gear a little too soon unless you drive it aggressively, around town I usually just put it in 4th and leave it. It's weird because my Tundra has the same transmission yet I don't notice the 5th gear lugging with it, so I guess the programming in the Taco is geared more towards fuel economy than power.

My complaint with Pyrite is they don't make it anymore.

I really like this color, but can't decide if I like the blue better or not...

My first Tacoma was super white, loved it. Didn't show scratches, clean up easily and as long as all of it was dirty it didn't look to bad (until you wiped an area and saw how dirty it really was). My current one is black sand Pearl and I cuss myself daily for getting a black truck. She is sexy as hell for the 2 days after you wash it though! I have the 6 speed and occasionally find myself wishing I had got the auto but not enough that I regret it. The manual is not very crisp and it reminds me alot of driving a older Dodge or Ford diesel truck. Very similar gear engagement. There are issues with the 6 speed throwout bearing making noise on some trucks and the quill possibly breaking off under some circumstances. My truck is a 2010 and I haven't had any issues or noises so it may be remedied on the "newer" 2nd gens. I'd suggest driving both and seeing which you prefer. I liked the 5 speed in my 4cyl Tacoma more than the 6 speed my current truck has.

I forgot to mention above that my biggest complaint about the 6 speed is that there are 6 forward gears and NO granny gear... I sure could use a granny gear!!

If I'm backing a trailer a long way (mainly short trailers) or on a trail that the pace is slow it goes in 4LO. 4 wheeling in 4HI or 2WD on a rocky winding trail will wear you out and you will ride the clutch all day.

V6 auto SR5 Super White from 06 and always outside in Central FL. Mine is still looking good but some vigilance is needed to keep it that way.

I like the 5 speed auto even though most of the vehicles I have owned were manual shift. I can't think of any CON.

Look like a work truck? Well at least there is no lettering on the side.

Just my $.02 on the nautical blue... I think it's a great looking color and very unique, but I don't think I'd want it on a vehcile that I was planning on keeping 20 years or so. I get the feeling that it may look "aged" (out of style) after a decade or so.

Oh, and I love my manual tranny. Go in knowing that it's not a slick-shifiting gearbox, though. You gotta learn to shift it slowly, more like a John Deere than like a Miata.

It's the reason I would never own a white truck. It looks too much like a standard issue company vehicle.

Until you mod the hell out of it of course.

Stay away from white. I've had 3 black trucks and a white truck. That stupid white truck was the worst to keep even barely clean.

The black does show scratches and chips like a mofo though.
