We did it despite having the cash on hand. Kept the loan for a year or so to help w/building credit and paid larger than necessary payments. Of course a 0.5% interest rate helped with that decision and now with an 810 score I am not complaining bout our decisions :D

I wish I did.... :pout: Im halfway, will be about 3.5 years total when Im done. Not TOO bad for someone in their early 20's I think.
No way id be able to pay cash for a 40k truck being that young, minimal/ok credit, saving for house, retirement, maintaining relationships/social life.

Im sure this scenario is alot different for the guys that paid cash (all over 45 yrs old Im assuming). Or just young financially responsible gentlemen with great jobs, but I wouldnt bet on it.

Very smart ;) . Plans are always great. Sounds like yours was great and you followed it .
I was young when started was responsible financially still am. Your right it gets easier as you go along. But if you plan for the things you want you will still have available funds to enjoy the toys after there aquired. Also makes life a lot less stressful .

I don't mind having a payment when the interest is zero... other than that, cash is king!

Sounds like a good plan! If it works for you, stick to it and don't let anyone distract you! Plus it will help you build your credit from minimal to excellent. Keep it up!
