To clarify, this is not just a bulb you can drop in. You have to open the headlights and install HID projectors, as well as HID bulbs and ballast. If you DIY, it'll cost you a few hundred bucks in parts for a basic retrofit.

If you are interested in actually improving your light output, using your OE fixtures, w/o any risk of blinding others, then read and do the following.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
This mod is "dirt cheap and easy". Just wrap around each headlight. Shouldn't cost you more than...what a $1.50 !? :D

Hey OP you can buy some Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, they will give you better light although they don't last as long as OEM bulbs.

This is what YOU aren't understanding...

Your lexus had "projectors" in the headlight housing... this allows them to run an HID bulb correctly. The HID bulb will allow you to choose from a selection of bulb temperatures, those temperatures determine color... ranging from yellow, to the blue your looking for, to purple and beyond.

The Projectors focus the light into a more controlled beam.

Your stock tacoma headlights have "reflectors" that aren't meant to focus the beam such as projectors, and if you put an HID bulb in them, they will reflect light all over and you will piss people off.

Your reflectors are designed to utilize an incandescent bulb, you will never get the look your wanting with an incandescent bulb imo.

I highly suggest just getting philips LED bulbs or GTR lighting gen-3 bulbs, both have little reflectors that mimic the reflectors on a H4 halogen and provide a really stock cutoff compared the non-shielded LED's that companies like VLEDS and others are putting out. My dad has the GTR's in his 2005 dodge and they're amazing, stock cutoff and exceptionally brighter than stock. Both with have a kelvin temp of around 5000-6000, which is a very pure white, some perceive it to have a little blue tint to it but most studies I have read say that around 5000K is the optimal temperature as it is the closest to daylight.

Damnit, I was gonna suggest one of these, but it's pretty hard on the wallet, being at least double the price of the shrink-wrap:

That could be free if you borrow one from a neighbor or your work.
