Heads up to 3rd gens my a/c fan motor went out last night and took it to the dealer today and there is 1100 on B/O !! So I have a loner car till they figure out what's gonna happen . Maybe gonna pull a new one out of a new truck .

 

That sucks, I went through that with a 5 wk wait time through June, They didnt give me a loner either... I would NOT let them pull one from another truck, they offered that option to me but it will likely be defective and if it lasts until its out of warranty its on your $$$. They have been working on getting a fixed blower motor out and its what they ended up installing in my truck.

Edit*: when I had mine on order there was around 1k on back order.

Yeah i highly doubt it.... probably going to be a recall, but its going to take a month to get the part in...

 

Yea the service manager who I've been dealing with since I bought my truck when I've gotten my oil changes told me more that likely Toyota is re designing it and it's gonna be another recall on 3rd gens again! There has been only 3 at my dealer so far

 

I was expecting they were waiting for a full restock before they went to a recall. Since it doesnt risk someone crashing and dieing they are probably in no rush to put another recall out on the 3rd gens.

Redesign is supposed to be done but getting stock replenished is the problem for know from what I was told when mine was down. I also talked to 2 different places because I dont trust dealers.

 

They gave me a loner for the night but I told him to fix it because I didn't pay all that for a truck with no A/c especially in Texas ! My service guy is pretty cool I've been dealing with him since I've bought the truck and has always treated me good even though I was only getting oil changed

 

Thats good. What dealer are you going to? I will still stick with what I said though and recommend letting them get the new "Fixed version" in for your truck rather than one pulled from a currently stocked truck due to the high risk of it being defective also.

Cowboy Toyota , I only have 10,000 on truck so will see. I just don't wanna go a month with no a/c, if it was winter no big deal but I work in heat and look forward to getting in my truck with ac at the end of the day lol

 

I get that. Just giving you my recommendation is all. There was 1k on back order when mine went out and was ordered, I waited just under 5 wks. My service guy was able to get a good quote time on the wait from his parts manager after a day or so. It was a long time to go without my truck because there was no fcking way I was driving my <1yr old truck in June with no a/c. Even in the winter with no defrost I wouldnt have driven it.
