Are these Hub centric?

    Hi everyone.

I am looking to get a new set of wheels for my 2017 TRD off road. I would like to get the Mickey Thompson Classic III wheels. I believe that these wheels are lug centric, but have a hub bore of 106.1mm. Does this make them hub centric, as our hubs are 106.1mm? or will they not sit as tight as a true hub centric wheel would?

    Thanks

    UPDATE:

OK, so I purchased one of the Mickey Thompsons to see how they would fit onto the hub.

They are just slightly larger than the hub. As you can see in the pictures above. In the last picture I am lifting the wheel to show how it would look sitting flush. See the video below for how much movement there is.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXK7IN9F9gU&feature=youtu.be

I did the same thing with the stock wheels, and there is also a little bit of play, but less than there is with these.

Would this cause any vibration on the wheels, or would it be better to go with different wheels?
Do the SCS wheels have any play like this?

    Thanks for the help.

I'm unsure what you're actually asking. If the wheel's hub bore = the car/truck's wheel hub size, they are hub centric (hence the word hub in hub centric).

I would consider it a lug centric even though the bore matches up.
Say if your studs were off from the bore, it would not center/fit over the bore; hence lug centric.

What do you mean by off from the bore?

Not understanding any of this (much anyways), is why I probably will never replace the rims on my truck.

Move all 6 studs in any one direction say, 1/2".
Is this wheel going to align to the bore or lugs?

No because it wouldnt even actually bolt up because the bore doesnt have 1/2" of direction to move.

That still isnt lug centric. Lug centric in its general terms is the bore of the wheel is larger than the hub, putting the forces on the lugs for clamping power.

What the heck are you saying? The hub is always going to be center to the studs. That's just how it works.

Thats my question. How are you going to mount a wheel when the bore isnt centered between the studs?

In general term, what is lug centric?

If the bore was 1" larger than the hub, giving him the 1/2" to move the studs, it would still be the same answer as mine of what lug centric means...

You quoted my post that I said what it was in general terms.

When the bore on the wheel is larger than the hub on the truck.

It was an exaggerated scenario to demonstrate concept.

Your concept would fail because thats not how centerbores and PCD (pitch circle diameter) aka bolt pattern works with each other.

No. The hub will still be centered to the studs, and the bore on the wheel will be centered to the bolt pattern.
