It's lug centric even if the bore matches up since you will HAVE to use lug centric lugnuts with that wheel to mount it correctly.
In reality it simply means you have 2 different methods trying to center the wheel, they will fight against eachother if one is off, or work in unison, everything being perfect. The latter is what will end up happening.

@splitbolt I understand what you're trying to explain, but what you're trying to explain is wrong.

What is a lug centric lug nut? ALL lug nuts center the bolt hole with the stud. Thats the point of lug nuts/lug bolts in conjunction with the seat

This is why you go through a good tire guy who knows their stuff. If you don't understand it and don't care to learn, you go to the experts!

FWIW the stock rims on my truck came with plastic rings (hub-centric rings) and my current rims did not (though I don't know if they're hub centric or not... I'm not an ezpert.)... Don't think it makes any kind of noticeable difference though

The 3rd Gen has a center bore of 106.1mm which means that the MT wheels would be hub centric. If the wheel is anything other than 106.1mm than it would be lug centric for the Tacoma. Hub centric wheels have better fitment to reduce any possible vibrations which the Tacoma is sensitive to. $.02

Simply put, lug centric wheels rely on the lugs, usually in a tapered shape, to center the wheel. Hub-centric rely on the Hub on painting of the wheel in the center to fit precisely on the Hub. Factory Toyota wheels are Hub Centric. As far as I know the only aftermarket hub-centric wheels are from Stealth Custom Series or SCS. These are the aftermarket wheels I run on my Toyota and I've never had any vibration issues.

I would disregard all the other comments in this thread.

    I'm fucking confused.
    You said they were hub.
    PNW/TRD Steve says lug.
But you say you said the same thing...

    :boink: lol

Guys, its really not that hard. As long as bolt pattern/PCD matches and lug hole size accepts your stud size (12 or 14mm, 12mm (12x1.5 thread pitch)), and the bore isnt smaller than the hub (Chevy has same PCD and stud diameter but much smaller bore), you can get hub rings to make them "hub centric".

He was not aware the OPs wheels were another hub centric wheel other than SCS. Everything else is accurate to what I said.
