885 coils.

My opinion is different because 885 are about the heaviest coil for a 4 banger, per Headstrong. So, with OME shocks, other trucks might not knock like mine did.

 

5100's are less expensive than ome's

I hear that. Eibachs were "made" for 5100's (so I've heard). I will vouch that they're a great combo.

About time

 

Eibachs were made for.....Eibach....Not for any one certain shock (per Eibach rep. Rang 'em up and asked a few questions a while back.....) They seem to claim no affiliation with shock brands. Best approach is to determine spring rate and static spring length needed, THEN see who builds a product closest to that magic number.

OME shocks are part of the "I paid more, therefore mine is better" syndrome.

When I first joined TW, there were a few "noteworthy" posters here that told me OME shocks were DEFINATELY better than Bilsteins. Obviously....Just look at the price tag! (And under their trucks) Several of those people have since recanted their story. OME shocks are OK, so long as you can live with that dreaded CLUNK! Not ALL applications clunk. Most do. OME has a well publicized reputation. Maybe more than deserved.

The old saying, "You get what you pay for" doesn't always ring true. HOWEVER, you seldom get what you DON'T pay for.
