More to come (Icon 13" travel temote resi rear shocks ordered 3 to 5 weeks out) Working on a custom utility bed trailer for camping/overlanding.
I have a 6" lift and icon coil over up front. As far as on road sway bar vs no sway bar is no noticable difference. The 6inch lift and 35s make high speed cornoring a big nono anyways lol. Offroad i did gain a little flex by removing the sway bar. Over all the truck hase never felt unstable or anything with out it. Results will very for every suspension settup.

Swaybar hangs on the wall in my garage. Goes back on the truck when my daughter gets her license.

So what you're saying is the swaybar definitely would have prevented the accident, right?

    Asking for a friend :spy:

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
I took mine off (1st gen too) when on spring shock combo, now on Icons. Everything was fine (I drive chill) until on the 15 heading to LA and I had to swerve out of the lane when a dumb ass Mercedes merged into me- I almost ALMOST lost control as the body roll started to snow ball out of control with each counter steer but I'll massage my own ego here and IMO due to my ole' autox days I started to get control back.

The gains of no sway when off-roading is awesome (was just coming back from Hodge road off of the 15), but emergency maneuvers are arguably more dangerous with it off. So rather than just slap it back on, I'm cruising McMaster Carr trying to assemble a list of parts to make a newer 1st gen version (01+) of the Baja Taco quick disconnect end links- best of both worlds, run it on the street, easily disconnect when wheeling. Darn Jeep guys have tons of options- some look like with just a few bolt changes could be compatible...

I dont run a sway bar and i lean like a mother on turns. I did have to dramatically change how i drive into corners on pavement. Off pavement there have been no question it has been better

There's no way of knowing whether or not it would have prevented it, at a certain point going fast enough + abrupt swerving will likely tip you over, swaybar or no swaybar. Swerving at speed in a lifted compact 1st gen truck with no weight in the back is a recipe for disaster in any situation really. Sway bar may or may not have helped.

I'm all for removing mine when I upgrade to stiffer coils.

Stiffer coils is the answer. When my first gen was sans sway bar on stock suspension it felt pretty sway side to side, but my 2nd Gen with bilstiens and progressive coils feels much more stable without the sway bar. It rides so much better everywhere to me, uneven pavement to off road, don't see any negatives without it.

Or stiffer compression in the shock?
