Well, I have a 2013 T/X Baja Pro, maybe!? So it says when I run the VIN number.
I am the second owner of the truck. The first owner purchased the truck in Texas. The thing is , when I bought the truck it had a stock wheel (265/65/17) and tire setup on it instead of the 16" TRD bead locks package it says it came with. It has a factory tow package. The cold air intake is a K&N, factory installed. Exhaust is headers into two pipes, into one through the cat an flow master, then out two pipes, all factory installed. The interior is cloth, manual seats but electronic everything else. Another thing, it didn't have the TX markings on the sides either, just the TRD Sport markings, which have been removed. What do I have here? It's a beast, oh and has factory installed leveling kit.

Sounds like you have a truck. With intake headers and exhaust.

I contacted the dealer in Texas where the truck was originally sold, supposedly the only place that model is available. They told me the truck was sold originally as a, Texas Baja Pro edition. The markings should have been TX Baja on the sides. It was a repo, then sold to the dealer I purchased it from in WA. The 2013 Pro wheels had been recalled so the dealer in WA put what they had laying around I assume. And changed the TX Baja tags. The Texas dealer said the interior was a cloth sport. They also said that the San Antonio Plant takes a 4x4 sport and adds all the Baja package, plus the TRD Pro intake, exhaust and TRD Pro wheel/tire package. I started researching this when Toyota sent me a recall for my TRD pro wheels with bead locks, i don't have.

What was the recall. Never heard of it for those wheels. Should be able to get them dirt cheap now. HAHA.

It was from the dealer in Texas. They said the wheels installed could fail under off road conditions. Since my wheels had been changed already, I didn't get the new TRD Pro wheels they would have replaced the defective set with. Oh well. Oh and I'm sure they are cheap now. HAHA

Well, I have paperwork now from the Texas dealer stating otherwise. Toyota has sent me paperwork on the truck as well. If something is installed on a vehicle by the factory or the Toyota dealer prior to said vehicles first sale, it's considered a FACTORY install, thus covered by Toyotas factory warranty.

Better look at that paper work really closely. Especially the fine print.

Dealers bolt on stuff like that to mark up the prices, roll it into the financing, and let the buyer feel special. Your 'repo case' is an example of that.

Most times those dealer added items are 'warrantied' by the dealer, using the warranty provided by the part manufactuer, along with providing some labor to change the offending part for you. Assuming the warranty is approved.

It's VERY unlikely you can roll into a dealer in Wa and expect warranty work on those add on bits, should it be needed. It's very likely one reason they wholesaled it out far far away; just to avoid having to deal with it.

Hopefully for you I'm wrong, or you won't need any warranty work, or you won't be denied other warranty work on OE parts due to the aftermarket parts.

Ok, I have had the truck since it had 8,643 miles on it. I've had the truck since Jan. 2014. I've also had to have warranty work done on the truck at the local dealer, not the one I bought it from. A sensor went bad on the exhaust system and was changed no questions asked.

I went to my local dealer today and spoke to the parts manager. He ran my VIN and told me the truck came off the factory floor as a TRD 4x4. Then was turned into what's known as a TEXAS Baja edition. Which was new for 2013, only available in Texas. He can't say why the other Toyota dealer took the TX markings off. Other then maybe they thought no one in WA would buy a truck that had TX down the side. This is what was emailed to me by him as to what my truck was when sold!

As you can see you "factory installed" parts are not on there. They were installed after the fact. You don't have some fancy rare truck. Just enjoy it and drive it

Don't hate, because my Tacoma is better than yours. I didn't post everything due to privacy moron! I know what I have and have the paperwork that proves it. All you have wanted to do is incite arguments with every post. Typical of a Jar Head. Just like the ones I baby sat as a Recon Corpsman. Always whining about some shit, Doc my feat hurt, Doc I can't hump another hill, I twisted my ankle. Doc I need mole skin for my boo boo. That's why your comments where ignored.

And the Corpsman gets a free pass to my safe space.

    Welcome!

PS, before entering, call Toyota Corp. It's a free call. Ask them about corporate support for your Tx Edition, related to the dealer added on non-Toyota parts.

Why are you coming on here asking a question and then crying like a little baby when you get an answer? If you know as good as you say you do then why are you even here asking?

"recon corpsman" sure hahahahahahahahahahah. Let me guess, you were a seal before that but decided it was too easy hahaha

The Baja was based on the TRD Off-Road, not the Sport.

I have never read about a recall of the beadlocks outside of the placard issue because the OEM tires weighed more and wasn't recorded as far as from a loading standpoint.

I bet the wheels were either sold off or swapped prior to you owning the truck. The gunmetal wheels were highly sought after in 2012-2014 or so when Toyota would not sell those wheels to the public unless they had a Baja and if someone had that truck and wanted to make a few bucks the wheels were an easy sellnif they wanted to change things up.

So, as I believe I stated before. The truck was built as a TRD off road. The dealer here in eastern Washington has admitted they took the TX/Baja markings off. Not knowing what they had in the truck they marked it a Sport. The Vin number is for a TRD TEXAS BAJA. I wish I had kept the recall notice, straight from Toyota. But, I know what the truck is and was originally built as. It has all been redone with the exception of the wheels and the TX stickers. I put TRD Baja stickers on it. My local dealer in Olympia, WA has been extremely helpful.
