Bought my 09 Taco in March of this year. I have been running the fog lights, as running lights. Yesterday they quit working, I tested the fuse, and it's good. Any ideas put there?

Are your bulbs working? Do you have power at the socket? Are your high beams on?

If you have a power probe ( glorified jumper wire) or a regular jumper wire you can turn the bulb on. Also get a test light and check for power

That will work for checking for power and ground. A test light is just a little easier. And if you got some shitty speakerwire laying around, that stuff makes mighty fine jumper wire for testing bulbs.

Factory fogs or aftermarket? Since you have power at the fuse, the next thing you want to check is if you have power to the bulbs - as has already been stated. If you don't have power there, I'd be checking the switch and / or the relay. If you do have power at the bulb(s), you may have a rare double bulb failure - but I kind of doubt that.

Not sure exactly what you mean.

They only work in conjunction with the low beams if they are factory, or unless some type of 'anytime fog on' mod has been done.

So are you running them by themselves, or do the low beams have to be on?

If by themselves, I'd be looking at either how it was wired or modified. After checking the sockets for voltage as previously suggested.

They are built into the bumper, so assuming they were factory. I have my granddaughter this afternoon, so I can't mess with it right now.

Maybe. May be OE type retrofits. May be modified wiring.

You didn't answer the operation question, ie 'how' did they operate.

They have been working on their own for the past couple months.

    OK. Lets be clear.

You can(could) turn on the fogs w/o turning on the low beams?

Maybe the switch was accidentally turned off.

I have checked that too. Last night driving with low beams, the fog lights were not on.

If you could ever turn on the fogs w/o the low beams, then as I said earlier................
