    Hey @erok81
If you have ever wondered if you can fit a hydro bump behind you'd bypass shocks

    The answer is yes

Good to know man, Im in Virginia so it will be getting painted by a local guy who is quite the painter. Im surprised though that McNeil is that bad with paint?

I got mine made with the optional gas cubby that helps marry it up to the filler neck. I havnt set it up yet, but I think if I bolt my stock insert into the cubby, then it should pretty much be spot on. I have heard worst case I can shift the filler neck about an inch up if need be. I will update my findings later on this week.

So far in my experience they all are

All the fenders I've messed with have needed major prep or repair before they could be used lol

Oh yea no doubt on the glass that it needs to be touched up before paint, but didn't know their paint skills were that bad as this is sort of what they do right?

    The way I see it
We as a consumer have been too laxed with what level of quality product we are willing to accept and the fiberglass manufacturers are enjoying that luxury

Could you imagine if someone building a wide body kit on their GT500 got the same quality fiberglass we do?
They'd burn down the whole town

That is true, I think one thing that aids this mentality is that they know most guys who have the suspension will get the glass banged up with chips, scratches, and other trail hits. Compared to the GT500 community, Im sure we are quite harsh on our glass so the imperfections may not stand out for very long depending on the wheeling time.

I went overboard doing my body work just to get it full of desert pinstripes and tons of rock chips and spider cracks. The pinstripes and rock chips aren't no biggie but the spider cracks do bug me, wish I had gone with a name brand bedliner laid on thick. I had a local guy do it with his own product and it's about 1/32" thick.

Regardless of how I beat on my truck I deserve to have proper body lines and all my factory stuff to still fit

With how you have described your driving, I think it was going to happen regardless of your preventative processes. Speed and glass are only but so compatible, but hey that's what the truck was designed for right?

Yea man, fitting headlights is always a fun process. I spent almost three hours with a dremel to get my fenders to fit just right.

I've had fiberwerx and McNeil fit like crap. But all the glass works stuff has fit great with no issues. Now that the are advanced fiberglass if their customer service has improved I don't see much point in using anyone else's glass

I know on my gen 1 it had all glassworks parts. The hood was off as well as the fenders. I actually had a shop mount the bedsides since they had to cut the sheet metal. I think it just depends on the run, but I wasn't very impressed with glassworks for the high shipping cost, to find my stuff still pretty fucked and cracked and things didn't fit like I thought. It was a good learning process though, that glass is glass man no matter how you slice it.

I think my experience with McNeil this time around has been a better fit than anything on my gen 1.

I had them paint my bedsides. Looked like a handful of Mexican children painted them. Drips everywhere, overspray on the frame/bed, didn't pull the tail lights like they said. Picked it up at night so couldn't see any of it. Next morning I was pretty pissed. Took it back and they said they'd fix it. All they did was color sand it more. Fuck it. As far as fitment, it wasn't great but not terrible. I'm anal about body lines though. Definately lay a thick layer of bedliner on the insides fo sho

WOW holy shit. That sounds crazy retarded for them to get that lazy. I mounted mine so that when I take it to the painter, he is only getting the two bedside panels. I don't think he would do that to mine from how he works with stuff, but part of the reason Im not giving him the opportunity either. I would of asked for a full refund for that shit, did you take it somewhere else after?

Lol very true, as a matter of fact, my ZL1 has tons of rock chips on the 1/4 panels and windshield along with 2 cracks. The front end is decent due to clear bra. The ZL1 community looses it's mind if it's driven in the rain also! But hey, sports cars are meant to be driven hard just like how the truck is designed for off roading.
