Got a fix-it ticket.. what do you think?

Got a fix-it ticket in Anza Borrego this weekend for my front tint.. Never had anyone even mention they thought my windows were too dark! What do you guys think?

take a stock picture and turn it in and pay the ticket......lol

 

i got one of those tickets before. I just went and paid my 70 something dollar fine and left my windows the way they were. I never was bothered about them again.

 

I got warned by a cop at a light in my old truck for the front windows. I think they were %20 tint. Different states have different laws on what % of tint is allowed. Yours doesn't look all that dark though. Did you get a fine or just get told to remove the tint or else?

 

you are not allowed to have front tinted windows in CA. so, yes, too dark

I think with a fix it ticket you have to get a peace officer to sign off your ticket that you corrected the violation, I had to do it for a missing front plate a few years ago. So just sending in a picture wont do it.

 

I think you can just pay the fine and leave it on instead of paying the $10 fix it. May cost more, but you don't have to go get them re-tinted.

 

yah, asked the cop about that.. he said its a $25 fee if i get it signed off and fixed.. if i dont fix it, $150

yah, just pay the $150 and they pretend it didnt happen. (mob mentality..)

 

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe you have to bring the truck in for inspection or have it signed off by an officer who may or may not want to verify that the tint was removed.

They can probably keep giving you the same tickets, its not like its a one time thing.

 

I would just pay the fine since I'd end up getting it re-tinted anyways so I'd rather avoid the trouble. I have 15% on my fronts and in PA we're only allowed 70% so essentially nothing. Haven't had any problems, yet(knock on wood). Had one cop at a light last weekend kinda staring at the tint but he didn't pull me over. Even if it's illegal it's still going to be up to the cops discretion one cop might not bother to pull you over while another will pull you over every time.

 

in the future id just roll my windows down if i saw the copsahead of time.

It's not just Cali., many states don't allow tint in the front. That's why I only had 50% installed, 35% would be the darkest I would try.

 

Yeah, i wouldn't have gone so dark, but i bought it like this.. so i never gave it a thought and have driven it since January 2007 with no problems.

 

Here in Oregon I've never been hassled. My folks were parinoid about getting their new Subaru's front widows tinted, but with a note from the doctor saying they have sensitive eyes the tint is legal. They just carry the note in their car and their good to go.
