Exactly my thoughts. That video says exactly the same thing, everybody's idea of what they like is different. Driving styles are different too. Just because you can go fast and it feels smooth doesn't mean it's being any easier on the suspension components, just the butt in the seat. Recent posted pics of worn out King bushings that are no longer being used as a daily driver speaks volumes about driving style. :stirthepot: (slow the fuck down and your shit will last longer) Swapping those things out must be highly enjoyable.

Just because I drive at a more mellow pace doesn't mean my ride is uncomfortable, I like to see what I drive past and hate spilling my freshly boiled highly acidic camp coffee on my crotch.
I have no intention of ever jumping this thing. OME Nitrochargers with 885's are actually on the list of possibilities, I'm familiar with the product and have been happy with it on the Tacoma. They haven't needed replaced yet.

    They don't squeak either.

However, some adjustability with height in the front might be nice to have so that's why I am looking at the Icon's. They are readily available, Plus the color will match excellent with the SPC UCA's that will go on at the same time.

I'm just not sold on the blue, I think it will clash horribly with the gray.:notsure:

You guys are welcome to be partial to whatever floats your boat. All I'm asking is if you have anything to compare it to. If all you have had is Icon, that's all you know, except for the sad stock suspension. Icon's valving softens up at higher valve speeds, which in my mind is better for jumping, which I will not be doing. And being in Co, I highly doubt you guys will be as well, lol.

I was thinking he was talking about your actual breaking issues after SAS, you know when you were Fred Flinstoning your truck to a stop.

Just try to get 2.5 bodies and resi's. It makes a world of difference in terms of recovery and longevity of the shock. IMO.

I just said in my response that I have experience with other progressive shocks. I went through 3 front suspensions before I got to ICON. I also stated that I bet if I had gone with KINGS I would have liked the ride as well. You seem to be focusing on defensive replies. Not my intent to get you riled up. Just contributing to the conversation and adding to the thought process was all.

Yeah, I'm looking at Toytec's site, they don't show a reservoir option for the Tundra. Just 2.5's in the front and 2.0's in the rear.
I'll give them a call later and see what they offer over the phone.

It should be noted that digressive valving softens up with the longer the stroke of the shock. This is typically tied to desert running at speed, but also applies to rock crawling as the suspension cycles up and down. Hence why I have had no issue with my ICON's off road.

If you do end up going for 2.5s in the rear make sure to verify if they will work with your choice of wheels. I think there are some clearance issues with the rear 2.5s on the Tacoma depending on your wheels. Not sure if it is similar for the Tundra though.

In other news, found a decent optical doc. Right eye is actually in fair condition. Left eye is clouded with cataracts. I am a candidate for surgery and they assured me it was an easy repair and can restore my sight to 20/20 in that eye. So cool!

The MD on the other hand...never seen so many concerned looks. Even the receptionist commented that the news I got wasn't very good. This usually happens when you hit 70. mine is 20 years early.
I'll be seeing a specialist on that in October. I was told there is no hurry for that one, simply because there is nothing that can be done.

My understanding is not that the valving is tied to the stroke of the shock but rather the speed at which the shock is being compressed or rebounding (note: this is not the same as vehicle speed). You can have fast shock movements while the vehicle is moving slowly and vice versa.

fortunately the shocks are inboard of the frame so shouldn't be a problem. It's amazing that the 1st gen Tundra uses the best attributes of the 1st and 2nd gen Taco's combined. This really is a very well designed truck.

Those were ADS spherical bearings. :cookiemonster:

And they cost $7 and are easy to replace.

Driving fast is fun. It's still worth it.
