Just installed mine and they look great! Took 8 days to get here. Did the 4300k 35w ball type bulb. Super easy to install. I mounted the ballasts using the location from the first post. I'll put up some night shots tonight. So far just fired them in the garage to make sure everything worked so not worth taking a picture of that.

I have the regular diode dynamics harness. It's perfect.

I wanted to get that one... Unfortunately out of stock. Discontinued

I was talking about some eBay and Amazon kits. I know it's NOT a rule, but with my luck, I'll get the bad ones...

Finally got dark enough to try them out. I'm very happy with the 4300k color. A few shots around the neighborhood for y'all to see how they perform. Last two pictures are without and with factory fog lights. By the way lights and suspension are still at factory adjustment.

I installed this setup last week. It took 45 days for it to arrive. Shipping is a joke. I think he shipped about a month after I ordered. So far I'm impressed by the lights though. I'm running the hd harness. It seems nice enough to me to warrant the $40 price

Bummer, I think it only took like 2 weeks for me. Got mine yesterday. Actually I just looked, ordered last week and arrived yesterday so just over 7 days or so.

going to attempt the install today.

Are the two wires/plugs in the middle needed, can you just connect the HD harness directly to the ballast?

ONE is needed. Your stock bulb connectors are H11, the Harness input is 9006. They look very similar but are different. The Adapter is H11 to 9006 and is needed to ensure connectivity. The relay output connectors are 9006 and will plug directly into the ballast connectors.

    Wire it exactly as outlined:

Ok awesome, I'll need to find the OEM H11 connection.

HID bulbs -> Ballast -> HD Harness -> OEM Drivers connector

No problems at all. I also have the same Philips 4300k installed. Compared to the CNLight 4300k they are more yellow, but do produce slightly more visible light so I've not pulled them out yet to put the cnlight back in. You definitely won't like the 6000k if you're interested in usable light and don't like the aftermarket blue color look.

Installed and functional. Thanks for the help. I did notice a buzzing from the ballasts when they are on but I assume this is normal. Any suggestions on how to run the wire across the engine to the passenger light, I think I may run it under the plastic near the radiator.

Moved my Opt7 LEDs into the high beams.

The buzzing on startup is normal, shouldn't buzz much after fully warmed up (10-20 seconds) but will make a very small amount of noise that you shouldn't notice over the sound of the engine when running.

Were our HID > LED claims on point?

great to see more happy users. good work, again, @Scooby24

i would never go cooler than 4300K if i could avoid it. the light output on this kit is fairly intense, and anything cooler would make me squint.

Ya I only noticed it when testing with the engine off.

Your claims were definitely on point. Having never used HIDs before I'm very impressed. Better throw and better light saturation.

Thanks for creating this thread and posting the write up.

Glad you're happy with it! I don't think there's nearly as much variability in performance in different HID ballasts/bulbs in comparison to what you find with LED bulbs, but quality can impact longevity and the little details can really improve night visibility. It's certainly more convenient to go with a bundled kit from reputable sellers but I think all of our experiences with no DOA's so far (at least none posted) and no reported failures yet speak for themselves...these are quality parts and well priced for that quality.

    cheers!

I finished installing mine a few moments ago. It took me a little while, mostly because I was working in the dark... It looks awesome! I'm going to test it out tomorrow morning, but just looking at it in the driveway :laser: looks like a winner!
BTW, I ordered them on 8/3, received on 8/19. Just over 2 weeks.

    Edit:
PS, @Scooby24 , thanks again for your extensive testing and write up! :hattip:
