Pull off a drum and look.

When you see they are OK, find a different dealer. Or just ignore that one.

If they are not ok (like you have a hanging ebrake that has cut them down), it's warranty time.

You'll know quickly. 5k brakes on a new truck should be fairly spotless inside.

My wager? Tech never even looked. Just thought he saw 50k on the odo and assumed.

Did they rotate tires? Did you mark them so you know for sure?

why the fuck does he want to pull his brakes off a brand new truck? that why you buy brand new so you dont have to work on the piece of shit

Should have told him to fix it under warranty. 5,000 miles is B.S. on rear drums unless you doing submarine duty in a mud bog.

File a complaint with Toyota customer service and get a case number. Something is either wrong with the rear brakes dragging or the front brakes are not doing any work. Either way the brakes must suck.

My rear drivers-side drum was warped badly causing wobbly sounds on the highway and fluttering in the brakes on deceleration. They replaced the drum under warranty, no issues since.

You need to reread my post, a little more carefully. Like the part where I said

So why not look and see for yourself? And I didn't say pull the brakes off. I said slip off a drum and take a look.

You seem a bit tense. Want me to clear an area for you in my safe space? It'll make it all better.

He was saying the tech probably looked and misread 5,000 as 50,000
