They dont look for secondary cats (as I said earlier) and they did away with visuals anyway. Its all checked by OBD2

You have 2 primary front cats that is monitored by ECU and O2 sensors. The 2 in the rear are for EPA "regulations" (mostly noise compliance at that point) not for specifically to pass TX inspections and are NOT monitored by a wideband O2 sensor and ECU so no CEL/MIL light. No inspector would know you had 4 total cats from factory anyway, especially when the CEL and ready status reads OK on the OBD2 scan because you did not remove the front 2 primary cats.

at least on the gen 3, no way to force readiness. I dont know about the gen 2 trucks if there are tuners out there for them that can force readiness.

The other thing is cats anymore arent really a restriction unless you start to talk very high HP where you are at temps that melt cats.

For our trucks at least, leaving the front main cats in place isnt a big deal.

I think thats the disconnect to that guy. The front 2 have to be in ready state and no CEL; the rear 2 arent monitored. And I've already mentioned some tunes and O2 spacers can simulate readiness as well to him.

@dwaltdtx got his done by Muffler King in Garland and had good things to say. I was recommended Kinney's Muffler Shop in North Fort Worth but don't have personal experience.

I will be doing mine shortly if someone wants to join me in asking for a bulk discount.

Kinney is right next to my workplace. I used them for muffler install. Their work was good. Their muffler recommendation was not so good.

First, I'm going to assume you are a little light upstairs because 1. I'm a bit of an asshole, 2. I'm safe from getting hit behind the internet, 3. You have a hard on for stock trucks, not sure how you make it past the dealer without changing pants. and 4. You are driving a light truck with an engine designed for fuel efficiency over power and you still spent money hoping to make it sound like a Trans Am. It's a V6, it's not gonna sound deep and throaty.

Now that we have that out of the way. Would you trust them to do custom work? Hard to come back from getting large chunks cut out of your exhaust if they booger it away.

The fact that they can do a 5 minute oil change just means they are more efficient
