Cooter's or the campground? Both were really. Hell the first Cooter's was only a half hour from the house

I was told that solar will not be enough to power the AC, so you have to go with a generator. I think I am going to save up and do it right and get one of the inverters instead of the louder, traditional ones

Correct solar will not power AC part f why I haven't made up my mind yet. If we gget a generator it'll be a small 2000 watt quiet one

could it be possible to run it with a power inverter? directly wired to the truck batterie, if the alternator can take it? With a remote start for the truck you could start it in the night if you are too hot, truck will run 15 minutes and shut down on its own, and will give you 15 minutes to cool down the TM, which should be enough for the size of it?

with a little research I saw that a 5000 btu air conditionner draw 500-600 watts, so I guess it can be possible.

Inverters are not magic, the use power to convert power. Figure 90% efficiency, plus the needed max for the motor, it just won't work. I can't find the post on another forum but it worked out that you would need to swap batteries every 4 hours and it took 8 hours of solar to recharge the battery. Came out with 3 good AGM or Ni batteries that you could run way down before they were ruined, the solar panels controllers and everything you could buy a generator for the same price.

We have a 2400w Yamaha that is converted to propane. Will run on gas or natural gas also. Have the same AC unit. No noise, no fumes so when we are boon docking it will cool down the cabin in a short time while still attached to the TD.

Of course generators are way better, and if on propane it is a plus! I was throwing the inverter idea in the air in case it could be possible. I use my 300w inverter mostly for lights and for a 120v pump to air up matresses lol

I'm looking at solar rt now as the trailer is wired for it already. Possibly moving the battery outside to the front rack and adding one but I'm a ways from that perhaps next spring

I would also say that the EPA has forced all gas generators to be tuned to sea level for pollution. If you are not inclined to modify your carb for adjustable jets, the propane is perfect. Fully adjustable mixture. Now propane won't get you as much in power (why I bought a 2400w over a 2000w) as gas, but gas is very inefficient at higher altitudes. You probably won't need an air conditioner at 8000 ft but nice for charging batteries in the shade when solar isn't an option.

A henerator is inevitable as a fridge is also. But a little at a time. Just getting to where I am now is a strain and now I have another big fish to fry

yeah one of the first things Christie said was it would be nice to have a fridge back where or kitchen is. It would be fine now at camp grounds but will take some consideration before living on just battery power especially using my cpap

You might be able to find a used propane fridge? They are pricy but worth it imo

This that and the other thing.
on a side note. if u do land urself a propane fridge and you find that it doesn't work after the off season (if u have an off season) turn it upside down for an hour or two then flip it back over and it should work again. RV places make a killing off that issue haha charge people an arm and a leg for doing nothing lol
