Anyone familiar with mcqueen fiberglass? Buddy has it on his exploder, it's nice.
Also I got the DMZ motor mount gussets welded in today. One step closer...

Ok, I see what you're saying now. Just let the front hang loose. I guess if drilling the spot welds and rivnutting the two materials together fails, I'll feel more confident now letting the front edge alone. I'm not concerned about ruining the steel fenders, I already cut them up to fit 35s.
Wish I had just gone with Advanced.
The bed is off now, I'll give it a shot tomorrow after work. Thanks for the advice.

It's a linear actuator. You can get them from grainger, eBay, Amazon, etc

Yeah, let's just say we aren't on speaking terms anymore. This is just one more thing that shows I got a bad product. It's all good though, things worked out in my favor.

Only thing that got McNeil to reply to me was a charge back on my fenders. 16 months after I ordered them...I like my fenders but man do they suck as a company.

Very true. I find the product mediocre at best. Had to do extensive repairs and ad material to front fenders to make mounting points. IMG_2624.jpg

Yeah they were mounted solid, you won't have issues with that. But that was also because the lip that goes over the composite bed on mine fit well so it kept in place. Which spot welds and rivnuts are you speaking of? When I did my bedsides it was literally a series of bolts and the whole sheet metal bedside will come off and you'll be left with just the black composite bed that you can hang your bedsides on.

Be weary of hanging the bedsides on the bed with the bed off in case you run into clearance issues with the cab. I went through hell with my old glassworks bedsides, I would have good clearance at the cab then the tail lights would be way off. The roadrunner glass I got was a dream, I barely even trimmed.

Fiberglass companies suck, end story. Sorry didn't mean to get on this topic lol

Yeah two bedsides supports at the bottom corners and one or two on the top going down into the flat top will hang them solid.

You won't find a bitter product in offroad fiberglass. His products are on point. Hopefully it stays that way in his legacy.

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
    So
Install on the suspension and glass is all done right?
Do a quick shake down and check on everything for a small 25 miles trip on just main roads
    All good
Recheck everything and all good... right?

I get on the highway and start driving from Victorville towards Huntington Beach...

I get 70% of the way there and my brakes get super squishy and hard to slow the vehicle so I pull over to check it out and find the front cv boots have thrown grease EVERYWHERE

    SO.
Now I'm stuck sitting in Huntington Beach... had to use manual downshifting to engine brake since the actual brakes are useless right now...

Hopefully I can get brenthal to come out tomorrow with their truck and fix my truck... otherwise I'm deadlined til further notice

At first, I would think the brake lines have air in them and need to bleed the brakes. But its grease and is coming from the cv boots?
