Anyone Plasti Dip Skid plates??

Hey guys, has anyone here try plasti-dip on aluminum skid plates? Does it stick well? Pictures if any please!

Why don't you just prime and paint it? You can do it right and clear coat then buff it.

 

Or spray it with some Duplicolor Bed Armor. It will offer a little more protection and it's easy to patch up any scrapes in future.

 

Bed lining body panels is for rednecks man. If you want tough use awlgrip or a strong powdercoat.

 

Skids plates aren't body panels... and redneck are awesome...

 

Or just leave them as is and let the aluminum age.

Edit: platidip would suck on skids.

 

Do you wheel? Plasti dipped skids look like peeling torn off skin after a good day on the trails

I didn't think it looked bad on my skid. It does fade though.

 

I did when I was running a TRD skid. It stuck great and was easy to touch up.

There's a pic in my garage sale post of itnoff the truck a couple years after I first sprayed it and might be a pic in my build thread of it on the truck.

**edit** found some pics of it on the truck. The color matched the grey plastic so it really blended in

Mine has been done for almost 3 years now, and still looks as good as the day I did it

 

Awesome pics guys. I think I'll plasti dip for now.
I do wheel, but lightly. I am worried about the peeled skin look. If I ever get tired of it, should peel off easy and I can powdercoat.

Think one can will do the trick? I'm only painting the bottom portion that people see.

If you're still going to plasti dip your shit atleast lay it on THICK so it peels off easily.

 

It doesn't really peel off due to the texture on the skid

I've plasti dipped stuff before. One can will probably do the trick for not having such a big surface area. I'll buy two just in case.

 

What's with the Lowe's 6 can minimum in CA? This state is Fuk*d up.
