If you could get a pic of the suspension....that would be great! I would love to see that price tag next to some spacers!!

Unfortunately, that's up north and I'm down south. I passed by this dealership a couple of weeks ago but did not see this truck. I only looked in their site because they are offering $1K off under invoice for all Tacomas.

Reminds me of a local dealership with a $9K price tag on their upgrades but at least they used Demello Armor and King coilovers and shocks.

Would not spend that much to build it but would most certainly drive it, wearing a big ol' goofy grin

Always wondered why people do this vs building a spaceframe rock buggy from scratch. At some point the base vehicle becomes more of a hinderance.

Mate of mine builds them out of cars so that their is a legitimate VIN attached which makes insuring them a great deal easier and less expensive. Like this 3rd gen 4Runner with a 4.7L Toyota V8 stuffed in it.

It was my understanding that the 4th gen did but not the third.. It didn't have this rear end, that's for certain.

The thing isn't street-legal. What is the insurance for? If it gets stolen, your friend will get reimbursed $3000 (or whatever a 3rd gen 4Runner fetches nowadays), a lot less than the parts and labor gone into it.

Yes and no....he can state that it was highly modified and they will simply insure it for the value that he claims. He will pay for it....but it will be insured.

This, purchasing an "agreed upon replacement value" policy is allot easier with a title with VIN in hand.
