TALKING WITH DEALER ON TACOMA ... PRICE NEGOTIATION TIME

Just offer $500 over invoice. I've never seen a dealer turn it down, plus it's a fair deal for both.

Maybe that works on a Corolla but not our Tacos.

 

I got my 2016, with the same options, for $35,900 out the door. I think the TTL portion was about $450 in my state. So without TTL, about $35,500. I bought from the internet sales guy. That is the way to go for price.

 

Worked on mine plus friends of mine, plus family members ....I have more then a passing " I buy one vehicle " every few years knowledge of what a dealership will do. Worked on my land cruiser .

 

Yes it is . Internet sales departments are the give it away potion of a dealership .

Similar truck but with JBL got mine for $36500 before TTL, MSRP was $40800.

Yep. I got mine for less than the inflated invoice. Still plenty of profit there. I used a high volume dealership's internet sales.

 

Funny shit! Whenever I drive by a dealer with balloons flying from every car I think of that segment.

 

That dealership on that segment is about 20 minutes from my house. Ha! Too funny. So Long Island.

 

Most people? Really? I can see some, but most? That's just silly.



OP, the truth is, these trucks sell well, hold their value, and it can be difficult getting a fair deal on one. We contacted around 25 dealerships via email before we got our deal. They can be had, but some dealers won't come off MSRP.

OP. Try Trucar. It worked for me. Don't look for the truck.., Let the truck look for you. These will be internet sales people hunting you down with deals trying to cut down the dealer's stock to make numbers. They go after quantity sold, to increase a dealership's volume discount. They are not after individual sales profits.

 

I was oddly enough helping a friend find one on cars.com, anyway I came across a couple close to us about 1.5 hours away for just under $33,000 and a few more for just over $33,000. We both ended up with a TRD OR DCSB 4wd Auto. I payed about $34k out the door. He payed less than $500 more. His had a couple of add ons and such. I don't think that they were suppose to be that cheap, but they honored it anyway.
