It was actually a serious bitch to get it right, so that the bike stood up vertically. It took like 7 prototypes, and then nobody bought the damn things, hence the discontinuation.

Healing up good. Chicks dig scars anyway! My shin scar from my GJ crash is still pretty gnarly after 10.5 weeks, I can't imagine that thing.

Well I stand corrected, Chad. Didn't mean to dismiss your work. I guess there really is more than meets the eye. When you say it was a challenge to get to stand vertically, was it because of the weight of the bike bent it downwards thus arcing out?

I would pay you many dead presidents if you were willing to build me a one off...

It was the way that the bracket sat on the top rail, and how it pushed against the inside of the bed. We ended up with some funky forming angles, and I don't think I even know what they were anymore.

It isn't something that we plan to do again.

If you want a GREAT way to carry your bikes, check out our bed rack and the outboard bike mounts. With the mounts and the rack, you can carry five bikes, and the rack will work with most tonneau covers.

I drool over your bolt together bed rack and accoutrements. Just don't have a practical need 99% of the time for a full rack (like that has stopped me before)

I saw the brackets for use with a tonneau cover...

Any work into covers that relocate the factory rail. I have the extang encore. I was actually going to go with the mobtown brackets til I realized they wouldn't work with my cover

Lots of covers relocate the rail, so we are developing a bracket that will work with them.

How were you going to mount that you have to cut the bed mat?

When I mounted the mount directly to the unistrut it pushed the mat back too far to close the tailgate, I made a couple of these and my mat fits. The unistrut is bolted in the 3 drain holes with stainless 1/4-20 hardware.

1” Square aluminum underneath for support, fork mounts with stainless hardware and RTV. 2x QR and 1x 15mmTA. Just had on a 1200mi round trip at 80mph down I-70 and no movement. And I can still open the tonneau and latch it open.

Cut 2.5" angle and unistrut 6.5" long and weld them together, be careful it's plated. Drill holes in angle to bolt to the unistrut that you bolted in your drain holes.

Looking for some advice on the best option to mount a road bike to the front bed of the truck. I don't see a rail to hook the front forks to. Anyone have a setup like this with pictures? I was thinking the Thule truck bed bike rack, Model number 821, would be a good product to use. I just don't see how to mount this to the front of the truck bed since there isn't any rails on the 2017 Taco TRD.
