Right off the lot I noticed this truck vibrating like on a rumble strip on deceleration on or off the brake, in or out of gear from 30 mph. Is this the same spring issue noted in tsb 0171-16. I opened a case and Toyota won't do anything to fix this. Not a brake issue. Anyone relate to this?

My truck had it, very common issue that many people here have commented on having.

Any lift? Bigger tires? - ECGS bushing.

    Does it vibe in 4x4?

No lift. I put 5100's on the rear and that helped a little. haven't changed front shocks yet. Haven't tried in 4X.

If it stops in 4X4 the bushing might take care of it. However, usually this problem only arises after lifting the truck - so might wait for others to chime in here.

I had a similar issue and it turned out one of my u joints was destroyed. Popped in new joints and I am back to smooth sailing...might not be the same issue but it sounds similar worth checking anyway

Just had it in for its 5K check. Regional Toyota Tech advisor inspected and drove it, drove another on the lot. Verified the issue. Apparently engineered to vibrate.

Interesting. Normal, eh? I have the deceleration vibes, too, though they are pretty mellow. My 2017 OR does have the leaf spring shim that seemed to be called for in a 2016 TSB. Does yours have a small shim between the rear axle and the leaf springs? Not sure I'd if all 2017 models got the shim or just the off roads. I'm guessing this helped mine but it still shudders a bit from 25-15 when slowing. Good luck.

Nothing on this truck. I verified the spring part numbers from the 16' tsb and are also on my truck.. The 16 tsb covers non trd access, crew cabs.

Are you saying your truck came from the factory updated with the 2016 TSB parts? I've kind of accepted that mine is as good as it'll get. Some guys have had dealers willing to troubleshoot, but that'd be a pretty great dealer.

Sorry. My truck has the springs listed in the tsb that are replaced by the tsb. There isn't a 17' tsb to fix this.
The rumble is pretty bad. Not a buzz or vibration

One individual here had their truck lemoned for this issue. Take to dealer and open a case with corporate if they do not help you at the dealer.

There was a member on this forum who had his driveline replaced and he said it fixed his vibes. But, again, it takes a special dealer to troubleshoot like this. Good luck. Keep us posted if anything changes.

Case was opened with Toyota. Toyota drove it and a new one and apparently they all do this. I need to find another dealer to look at it.

No way they do not all do this. This is the rumble strip vibration that needs to be fixed.

Smit - did they narrow it down to either the front or the rear? (Or not at all) Just curious.

Take a look at tsb 0171-16. Describes the issue completely. But not for a 17'

Had the same problem on my '17 sport from day one.

lifted my truck in the front with 6112 and 5160 in the rear with a 1 inch block. at the same time changed out my front driver side bushing to the ECGS as recommended by many here. Unfortunately the vibration actually got worse, i shimmed the carrier bearing which helped a bit.

Last week decided to change the rear block to a 3 leaf progressive aal with 2 degree shims. took out the carrier bearing drop and now i dont even notice the vibrations at all.

Its a driveline angle issue that toyota refuses to fix. obviously they have noticed a problem with the complaints, but only put rear shims on the '17 off roads. I asked 2 local dealers if they knew the angle of the shim, and the service employees told me it wasn't on any of the spec sheets.

I have a pair of Helwig full length helper springs to try. That'll tighten up the rear some more. I'll add an inch to the front with the 5100's.
The TSB on the 16's show the steps to measure the angle and suggest taking the driveshaft off and drive in 4X to completely take the shaft/trans out of the equation.
The fix for 16' was different springs.
