Hah, I was looking for truck pictures, but I'll just post some other stuff for now.

    The Story, Ak_TacoTime.

So yeah, I buy this Taco off of craigslist because I dont have a proper work truck and I'd have to chase one of these around, oh its fugly, dented, flatblack, leaky exhaust.. But the price was right.

    upload_2017-8-9_1-12-45.jpg

So that beater taco I got, I'm still driving around, its been pretty good for a high mileage truck, doesnt get stuck, ok gas mileage,

So I've been here and there with it, and they taco has made me alot of money camped in it, partied in it, dirty deeds and , driven off road to see some beautiful country in it. My boy calls it the "monster truck", its not.. But he loves it. Ive been liking my toy more and more I'm getting attached to this truck.

I think I'm going to keep it around and enjoy the ride.

Oh yeah, where's the damm truck?.. hahah here ya go.

    upload_2017-8-9_11-5-52.jpg

Oh yeah.. can you believe I haven't washed it in a few years? those wide tires without flaps.. Its a self washing she needs gas, I need suds, so yeah good trade!

    upload_2017-8-9_11-12-3.jpg

Oh yeah, the taco has been to Canada.. Prolly as far south as she will ever go, but you never know, the trim was a bit wiggly on the inside, so what would any reasonable person do?.. Replace the entire door... That faded black primer really sets it off, Woohoo!.. Am I a redneck or a idiot?, Howzabout double up on that with some mayo.

    upload_2017-8-9_11-22-35.jpg

My lucky shackle, with some Hella 550's.. I know LED's are all the rage, but the price is right and I've already dodged a few moose with these lights. And I've been in some gnarly snowstorms, Thank you sweet baby jesus for keeping me safe.

    upload_2017-8-9_11-29-54.jpg

My custom topper.. Really one-of-a-kind-shit, special order bro. What you do is look on craigslist for a topper that is supposed to fit the 1gen taco's but when you get there its for the earlier toys, the 92. And you freak out and they give you a deal on a topper that doesn't fit.

    Awesome Sauce.

Lucky for me I gots straps, I take this topper home do a little surgery on it with my grinder to get the angle right, and yep, put a block of wood to support the new cuts, and put some screws and silicone on it, and a little bit of bedliner to complete the look. Airplane wings have screws holding it together.. Just saying... They dont have silicone and bedliner so that makes mine even better.

Flat black is awesome because you can touch it up so easy. Get a scratch? Just grab the spray can. I thought my buddy was an idiot for painting his motorcycle flat black until I realized he can have a new paint job in about 5 minutes and $5! And that's if he buys the expensive paint!

Dude, couldn't have said it better myself, I just went to a camping spot the other day I feel no guilt as the trees rub on the body.

5 bucks wont even turn on the wand at the DIY carwash. And I'd rather buy gas and a beer, and still have money for a can of rattle on five.

Great story , sounds like my first toy. What company and where is that platform ? What are you doing on it?
I worked on manning one , in rickman creek area just about and hour and a half down some rough dirt roads from Kemmerer WY. Started off as a worm:). Tough work in a lot of ways. Was really bad way back when I worked it . But it paid really well!!

Great beater truck so far.. Did the valves last year, only slightly out of spec @180,000 miles. Mee thinks this will run for a few more years.

Oh yeah. I drove the hell out of mine and sold it at 160k with no issues at all. I left it with my dad when I jointed the military in 2001 and it was pristine. When I came back to get it in 2006 he had not maintained the frame and it was rusted in half in several places. With full disclosure of the frame issues I still got $5,500 for it and I think new it was only 18k. I wish the frame had not rotted, I would still have it!

Hahha, I knew there was a rig hand out there.

That's Nabors 99, its been on TV, national geographic cold diggers, its a herc rig that can be flown with helicopters, but FAA wont allow it in the USA, we did a retrofit to pull all that canadian spec stuff to get it back to US spec. We were doing some gas wells out in the pen in Anchor Point. I roughnecked out there, and worked pits, then they trucked that rig up north to Deadhorse where we did some wildcats out there.

That rig is a cold M.F. and it rained like crazy out there not fun.. we fabbed up some walls to get it arctic ready. Not a bad little rig, just trying to line everything up sucks.

Yeah its wierd you would think with all the road salt the frame on mine would be rotted, its not.

I dunno, I might look under her skirt and give her a squirt of zinc spray.. Good heads up on the frame rot.

I dont even have rusty bed panels.. Must be the lucky shackle.. !

Yep, there are a few of us :). I worked for a year and a half in Wy. Till we got snowed in for almost 2weeks . That's a freaking long time in the doghouse . I remember a collar falling and damn near clipping me just before we shut it down. Guy in crows nest was drinking ( most guys did back then). We got paid 24-7 plus 3 Perdiums a day for our time. I got that check 2 days after we got out. Jumped in my truck and hot footed it back to Cali :).
It's a hard life, but an exciting one in a lot of ways. I'm glad for all the lessons learned while working there. Plus it's the reason I go back to Wyoming 2-3 times a year! Absolutely the best state IMO . Wife disagrees lol .
Be safe and enjoy the truck!

Hah, I've NEVER dropped one, especially a collar even on a kelly rig. Missed, sure, but I dont miss on BHA. These TD hands these days, psssh... try chasing the elevator around on free swinging.

I love being out on a job, but I gotta be careful, like any other hand I like my drink. I've done my time in Wyoming, cant say I love it, I'm more a Colorado kinda guy. Yeah lots of good times making money with my Taco truck.

Hah, I probally can go back WY, I think those outstanding warrants are closed by now.
