TRD intake improved my MPG to the point where its gonna pay for itself. So whatever benefits it brings beyond that if nothing is at least free.

You truly think a throttle body spacer makes a difference on a MPFI system? That is definitely some wishful thinking.

Nope didnt say just the throttle body spacer did this but the entire kit did help a little. When the exhaust goes in and a tune then I will be able to tell you it was all worth it. As for now the intake kit is just a little better than stock

Where did you purchase the intake? And where could I get a coupon for it?

I just installed the TRD CAI a few hours ago on my 2017 TRD O/R. Two weeks ago, I swapped out my stock exhaust for the TRD cat-back exhaust. For me, a night and day difference now. Much more response at the throttle, and acceleration is much more noticeable and aggressive to me. For me, worth my money and effort!

Sounds about the same as what I did on my OR, but the other order. Also happy with the results as well.

Mmhmm still wishful thinking. The stick system flows plenty of air to feed 268hp--and anything below that. Your intake manifold dictates how power is made(design of the runners).

I have to respectfully disagree with this assessment. Sure, in an air conditioned test lab I'm willing to bet that the stock system flows enough air to make ~268 without the computer skipping a beat. However, in a hot, humid, 103 degree Midwestern summer my truck has certainly been struggling to breath. That is, until I kick it up into the 5000 rpm range (which is something I really don't like doing).

Also, before you start talking to me about Toyota testing and QA; this is coming from the same guys who cranked out a truck that whistles at the slightest crosswind at highway speeds....

Did you run it at all before you put the big scoop on the front?

thx. I never ended up buying the scoop piece. I leave that hole that
it connects to open, sounds great just like that just wondered if it
felt/sounded any different w/ the scoop.

Bash away. All that matters is whether the owner likes it or not. I just happen to like mine as it feels more responsive than stock. The sound is to my liking as well. At the end of the day what we choose to do with our money is our choice. If you dont like it dont buy it, simple as that. ☮️

Im sure its probably a little quieter. When you get on it sounds throaty. I also like the turbocharged whistle sound from the TB spacer. In speaking with AFE this morning about the whistle, the csr says when you no longer hear it. It's time to clean the filter. Nice way to know when to clean as apposed to checking it all the time.
