I'm looking for a recommendation for a roof rack/basket for my 2011 Taco. I'm looking for one that can accept lights but still leave enough room to carry surfboards.

I have a discount with Yakima but don't like the added height of having to put the cargo basket on a roof rack. I've looked at few others that appear tonbolt on the existing system; if anyone has used any of these please let me know their thought:

    Warrior platform roof rack
    M rack stealth series
    Baja Utility rack
    Baja standard rack
    Front runner slimline II

I typically carry 6,8, and 10ft surfboard plus tough boxes with dive and camping gear.

My other thought is a bed rack but I don't know any that work with a tonneau cover and run even with the roof.

I was really looking into that M-Rack at one point in time, as I think it looks super slick. Price sort of sucks when comparing to other options (though not as expensive as FrontRunner). The problem is I just saw a picture of it and it doesn't look like it uses the stock double-cab roof rack bolt hole locations, which is a big turn off for me, because A.) means its probably some universal variation of their rack they didn't even bother to modify for the Tacoma, and B.) I am not drilling no fuckin holes in my roof.

pic: (SCROLL down where pictures are and you will see a pic of the rack on a white Tacoma + LED bar)

Prinsu looks like a win. With the modular and adjustable cross bars it looks to easy to mount surf boards. Plus if I ever get a camper it will be too easy to add on.

New questions: tips on securing gear to non-basket type platforms? Anyone have experience mounting non-LED lights like HELLA on the prinsu?

It looks like you can mount just about whatever you want to a Prinsu. It's strong, and with all of those slots/channels the mounting points are endless. :)

Now is the time to order too. With CBI taking over production it looks like the turn around is getting better. There are a lot of older orders outstanding but I ordered 7/26 and mine is going to be delivered today.

Wow that's awesome if those 2 month lead times are a thing of the past.

Exactly that's what I was saying. They are still quoting 4-6 weeks and caught me by surprise. Also CBI was very fast to respond to any questions.

Just arrived about an hour ago.
