I might actually be there for that. Trying to see if I can get Friday and Monday off work to make a trip down to GTF and pick up some Dakar leaf springs.

I'm going, typically we meet at the Fred Meyers on Muldoon in Anchorage at 9. But we will get to the trail around 10:00-10:15 and meet there. @SnowroxKT can give you more info.

Yeah I want to leave Fred Meyer's by 9, so meet there at 8:45. I haven't been on this one before but I think @FarNorthTaco14 has, so I might ask him to lead us to the trailhead (cool?) another friend in my last couple videos has been before, he drives the T4R, but I do have some directions there as well if that doesn't work out. There might be a few deep mud holes, but me and hopefully at least one other SAS Toyota will be there with winches.

How much of a disadvantage would I be at with my RTT mounted and my bed full of camping stuff? I don't want to be that guy making everyone else have no fun.

I don't think most of the trail is that bad, just a few spots from what I'm told.

Yes. My truck is lifted about 3" with a winch and rock sliders, but stock skid plates still. I'll carry my TREDs, shovel, straps, hilift, etc like usual.

With those and a winch you should be good.

Yeah I know what turn off and everything from memory, I'm gonna look at a map to jog my memory on if it's a turn off or if the paved road just leads into the trail, this was last November time frame. Unless @NickofTime remembers off the top of his head. He also coming along!

After doing a little research I remember how to get up there. There is a route wider for trucks. Directions say to stay left at every fork, after the first fork I believe it was the next fork we took a right. If you stay left like most directions say then you end up at the ATV trailhead. And I'm sure not everyone is trying to pinstripe their trucks? Lol :burnrubber:

Is there anywhere to camp near the trail? There's a chance I might not get down there until late Friday so being close to the trail would be nice.

I'm not sure if camping at the big gravel lot at the head of the ATV trail is legal or not. I'm actually not that familiar with the Palmer side of the valley.

This is from Nov 5, 2016 when @NickofTime and I did it. We didn't get to the end cuz I was gone stock and scared. Lol

There are a few campgrounds I think. King Mountain State Rec Area should be close.

We will be at Jonesville Road and the Glenn Highway about 10am if that helps so you don't backtrack.

Handheld CBs can. A walkie talkie 2 way won't.
