    Kevin,

All the dealers know full well what has been going on with frames on Sequoia's, Tundra's and Tacos for a long time. Call the one nearest you and set an appointment to have the frame inspected. I had a dealer in Minnesota (my home state) inspect mine after I received the post card. Mine is a 2008 Taco TRD Crew Cab. The dealer told me my frame won't make it through another Minnesota winter and recommended replacement. They said they had not received any guidance on the latest frame settlement in the case of Brian Warner et al, and that I should receive a letter from Toyota soon. This is my son's car and he uses it to go to school and back. Since they inspected it and told me the condition it is in, both the dealer and Toyota are on the hook legally should anything happen like the frame collapses while on the road - especially if someone is hurt. Toyota has appealed the settlement - not sure how you appeal an out of court settlement - probably because the magnitude of the cost is hitting them. There is talk that they might buy back affected vehicles at 150% of book value. Frankly it would be cheaper for them to do this rather than put $15K or more into all of these vehicles and be subject to lots of potential problems after the work is done. They are essentially doing off-frame restorations which are not trivial. Unbolting the body, engine, tranny, all suspension, exhaust, etc. from an old vehicle with lots of rust usually means lots of parts that are no longer usable. Are they expecting the owners to cough-up thousands of $ for these parts? I think not! They f''d up and had frames produced that were substandard in corrosion protection. That's not our fault. I love the truck otherwise and don't want to part with it but 150% of book might get me into a 2012 or 2013 which don't have this issue. Good luck!

Yeah sorry folks - newbie on the board here. I was searching for what was taking Toyota so darn long to get the latest frame problems addressed and came across this board and a question from a member who had received the post card from the class action lawsuit. I was just trying to answer his question because I have been following this issue with great interest for about 8 months now. I love my Taco, but can't imagine replacing the frame - Geeze what are all these extra bots and nuts for? Toyota is a great company and makes awesome reliable products (I have 2 Toyotas and 2 Lexus's) and unlike GM and Ford they usually step up to the plate when they do something wrong. They seem to be dragging their feet on this one though. If anyone has any new information I would appreciate a post.

    Cheers!
