The hunt begins for a wrecked 01-04.

 

Just got done installing a Pioneer digital media receiver and microphone so we can stream audio from our phones and use Bluetooth for hands free talking on the phone. It's the MVH-580BS and it matches the oem colors really well and so far syncs up and works great!!

Also put the paranoid fab switch panel with blanks under it for now. Will have to come back out for black paint and switch installs once I decide on what accessories and switches I want down there, but it's better than a giant hole under the radio since I don't have the oem cubby.

 

Man I can't keep up with you guys. Over 100 pages since my last visit.

Anyway something small. My negative battery stud was too small to be tightened so I got another Odyssey stud kit and switched the negative stud to positive size stud.

Also removed the stainless sleeve which has always bugged me. I mean, why would you use all high amperage components and wiring and then put in a stainless sleeve with conductivity that is like 3% that of copper?

 

I like how that design splits the difference between below and above the roofline. I'd like to be able to see out my rear view at least partially. Full obstruction would be claustrophobic i think.

 

It's about an 1.5" taller then my last rack, and I think it's only about an inch above the roof line. Being able to see behind me another reason why I built a new one. I got tired of never being able to see behind me and if I did look behind, I could only see the people who were tailgating me. My spare tire and RotoPaxs still block most of my vision otherwise.

 

Yeah, it came stock, I don't think I've seen a 4 piece before

 

I got a full engine wiring harness with my donor engine from a 2000 trd 5 speed 4x4. Will it be the same as my 98 non-trd 5 speed 4x4? Planning on keeping it if it is - nice to have a backup for any reason I suppose.

They are a pain to open - in my regular cab I can whip open the window while driving so easily. Not so with the 4 piece. Granted it's older and crustier, but the design has something to do with it too.

 

My OEM brake PV is letting air and water into the system. Anybody used

this valve or recommend one better? Do any of them come with click knobs so you can remember where u set it?

 

How much overspray are you getting? I'd assume a lot. Not much of a masking/bagging job on the truck. I mean, you could have spent the 1 minute to remove the wiper arms at least

 

That's a full brake proportioning system, if you're just talking about the LSPV in the rear you can replace it with something simple like this:

The adjustment knob doesn't have detents, but once it's set you don't really need to mess with it.

 

Rolled it, i did get some in the super blade but I slapped it with some MEK and it came right off

 

I want super blades

 

They're awesome, really worth the money

 

Your truck is going to look great when you're done! I'm going to do something similar after all my money is gone into mods and my truck still looks like a heap

I have the front range kit too. Though not sure its totally worth it. Jury is still out.
