Ok, so old bedsides off and spot welds cut...IMG_2767.jpgIMG_2766.jpg
Now with bedsides hung... (these things are going to need a heavy dose of cutting, sanding and heat gun to fit)
    IMG_2765.jpg
Looks to me like my rivnut plan will work. The remaining sheet metal is also helping to align and set depth. This works for me because I hacked up and destroyed my bedsides. Guys replacing untouched sides have a nice way to recoup the cost of glass.

Sounds like you know who installed the kit. :) yeah I've heard that saying too, except more vulgar. "The only person that doesn't fuck something up is the one who doesn't do anything."

I'm still curious why the dust shield is missing, is that removed for the install kit that he got?

I'm not sure on the dust shield. If he gusseted the spindles some people choose to lose them. I always reinstall them but I've seen a bunch that don't.

Based on my experience I would be sure to always have them in. After seeing this it just reinforces my experience. Bad boot leads to loss of brakes on one of the front tires? Yeah I'll deal with the small amount of annoyance that comes with those shields to avoid that.

Nice job man, royal pain in the ass that you had to do it that way. Mine had that threshold as apart of the glass, did they ever state why it didnt have it on there?

The fact that that piece is missing only dawned on me months after the whole ordeal, when I was finished with repairs and then prepping for install. I took a peak between the bed and cab and had one of those, "huh, that's weird," walked back inside the house for a look and just sighed.

Mine aren't hooked up behind their either since it's a bitch to pull my bed+ I'm lazy AF and its plenty secure right there with the railings installed and the lower mounts connected.

    Yes
A lot of people remove the dust shields because they end up conflicting with things like spindle gussetts

Anyone know if I can replace my UCA and LCA's with the camburg +2 without replacing the axels and bypass mounts as well?

Lol I plan to physically go talk to them

But I also looked at their site just now... couldn't find a +2 kit on there

So maybe I'm just getting dumber the more frustrated I get

    As I said
I may be getting dumber from how frustrated I am and it's causing me to imagine things LOL

It seems like they may only have a +3.5

Yup stress'll do that to ya. TC is the one that I'm familiar with when it comes to bigger companies - solo made one too, I'm sure they have the jigs for it still.
