Add a leaf will stiffen the ride a bit. I just wanted additional height without messing with the ride. Eventually I may do dakars but I've never rode in a truck with them.

Still one of the best looking trucks I've seen with an actual suspension lift (i.e not a DB or spacer/block lift). Still happy with it? Couple questions, did you use 1/4 inch spacers up front on both sides? Also, any additional differential drop or brake line relocations?

OME full suspension kit with 888 coils and 1/4" spacer, soft-ride struts, full Dakar leaf packs, SPC Light Racing UCA's, Fuel Vapor 17's with Double Dark Tint, BF Goodrich K02's in 285/70R17, Tinted Windows, Headlight signal light smoke outs, Weathertech Mats, full audio system upgrade with JL Audio subs, JL Amps, Audiocontrol Processors and Focal K2 components, LED interior light kit, custom bedside decals, leather interior and heated seats and TRD Pro Tail Lights. SOS Offroad Concepts Low Profile Winch Bumper with Smittybilt XRC Gen II 9.5k winch with synthetic rope.

I'm still super happy with it. Yes I used 1/4" spacers up front on both sides (this is in addition to the trim packer that OME includes for drivers side) because I wanted a finished lift height of 3" of lift AFTER I installed the low profile winch bumper I currently have ordered. I currently have nearly 3.5" of lift up front but after my low profile winch bumper gets installed in a few weeks I should wind up with pretty close to dead-nuts on 3" of front lift. I only put the additional 1/4" spacers in to compensate for the fact that I'll be adding like 150lbs of weight up front shortly, otherwise I wouldn't have done so. I installed the driveline spacer that the OME kit has, no differential drop and no vibrations whatsoever, rides great. I didn't have to redo the brake lines and have quite a bit of play left in them actually. I may eventually upgrade them to braided stainless anyway.

would 887s with SPC LR UCAs clear 33s? I'm gonna run the dakar pack but will have a constant load of 300# in the ass and don't want reverse rake....

Yes! At 23 " I had no probs, put 1/4 top plate spacer on and now I'm at 24". RIDE is stiffer and cv boots have wear showing. Think g of taking out spacers

Looks like the sway bar links dug into the cv boots.

Either completely remove it or hook it up.

DON'T do this .. it will put u at 24+ " up front. Looks amazing but the cv axles cannot last like this. After 10k miles my boots are wearing grooves in the fins and the boot is sure to fail any day. And this is zero off road 100% hwy. After replacing these boots the 1/4 top spacers have to go.

Got these cv axles looking like a Polaris four wheeler axles...lol

I miss my manual locking hubs on my 99.

Well what helps this situation then? As I thought 3" was max for our trucks without excessive wear

The diff drop seems to " rotate" the diff and not really drop it at all.

2016 taco sits 21" hub to fender.
2015> sits 20" hub to fender.

Both trucks have 24.5" of droop or useable down travel. Meaning if u rest at 24" u only have .5" of down travel left. [Pogo stick]

23.5" is max for comfort and longevity. U want atleast 1" of droop.

    Kdub, thats a baddass truck.
    A few questions:
    - Are your wheels OEM TRD Pro (7" wide) or replicas? Are you running a wheel spacer?
    - How much trimming (if any) did you do to make those fit? CMC?

I also just ordered the OME kit from lowrangeoffroad.com. They have a few install videos in which they say 285/70R17 KO2's only rub slightly when backing up and turning sharp. This is with stock upper control arms. Do you disagree?

    Stock for now.
My brother and friends ordered me Bilstein 5100's and OME 888's and I ordered the Dakar leaf pack. Hell of a wedding present! haha Sounds like thats been the best of the budget lifts from what I've seen. I'm going to try and fit 285/70/r17

Questions for you pros. Made it to page 8 and couldn't come up with an answer. If I get OME 2884 springs, bilstein 5100s a 1/4" driver side spacer and 1.5" wheel spacers, will I need new UCAs? And will it fit a 285-70R17 on stock trd sport wheels?

Most important question is definitely will I need new UCAs :help:

Working on it, dissent offroad racks, shift sense pro, pedal commander , ARB twin, rigid SS dually's , dual batteries, ARB fridge , 2.5 Fox coil overs wResi , 2.5 Fox rears w resi Total chaos UCA , deaver packs , Nitto trail grappler's 33" .
Technically no you won't as under 3" will get you within spec. I would say you should as " within spec" is a pretty wide area. With new UCA's you'll get it right where it needs to be.
    Costs more now$$$ saves you later...as in tire's will wear correctly , that's a big $$$. Front end will wear correctly ....that's a big $$$ .
Not to mention the time it takes to replace later $$$.
    Do it right....:)

From what I've seen on the threads, you'll need close to 3" to clear 285/70R17s. That being said, tire sizes vary a ton between brands, so it depends on which tire you choose.
I would get new UCAs and a longer coil-- save yourself the headache of trimming and chopping, poor alignment, uneven wear, etc. Mike is right, these would likely add up and cost you more in the long run than UCAs.
I just ordered the Dakar leaf pack, 3rd gen 5100s, 888 coils, LR UCAs, and all the miscellaneous bits and pieces for $1600 from Headstrong. If you're looking to save money, you can get an AAL instead of Dakars, and then this same package costs right around $1200 (about as cheap as it gets as far as lifts go). And then you can also save by installing yourself or with a buddy, buying tires/wheels on Craigslist, etc.
