Ive seen much more than that actually. Im just trying to find reasons to get another tacoma as a replacement for my 16. But this recall seems to have no end.

Brought mine in today for 15k service and rear diff recall. Rear diff is leaking, SA told me parts are now "readily available" and they are no longer holding trucks. Ordered parts and sent me home in my truck. Said should be about a week till the parts come in.

I hope this is true. Readily available parts would change the entire dialogue on this.

So, how does she know they're readily available? Did she order yours and get a confirmation?

So the deal is with holding them is as long as the dealer knows the timeline, they release the trucks?

I don't know, when she was doing my paperwork when I got there I asked if they found a leak were they gonna keep my truck? Her response was "not any more, since the parts are readily available now we have been ordering the parts as we need them and calling people to make appointments when they come in, it usually takes about a week." She sounded like she's been through this a few times.

I wonder if she knows any info about the other trucks affected that are not on the recall?

Whats the dealer? If she can easily get parts in a weeks time, there's quite a few guys who'd love to get their hands on them. My dealer told me 2 days ago they are still at 4 weeks....

Confirmed, called our selling dealer: their take "don't bother bringing it in, they all seep at the gasket, its normal; just keep an eye on fluid level at oil changes, if it gets to the point of dripping and puddling on driveway let us know and we can make an appointment for you"

They follow the Just In Time process so they never carry any inventory, I don't see how they think it saves them money because all it takes is 1 disruption to screw everything up and they obviously don't mind passing the burden to the customer

Please keep us up to date on this--I suspect it was Toyota's product liability lawyers, not engineers, that came up with this silly "any sign of leakage, even very minor, is still leakage" policy.

I had a '73 Jeepster that had to have the front differential topped off every couple weeks...

Sucks, you would think they would stop using those bad parts on the new trucks coming out and they should have them replaced prior to someone purchasing it.

Here in Seattle I was told it could take months and that some trucks have been sitting for two months ahead of me waiting for parts. The kicker? They said they don't have any loaner cars available :censored:
