true, depending on how thick the material would be.

.250" Minimum. Although this AL was surprisingly light. I'd guess only a few lb's.

Interesting. How does it mount to the ceiling and how do you use it to hold things (Velcro?)

For those wondering about side curtain airbag deployment, I don't think there will be any interference with the rack.
Here is a clip of a double cab 3rd gen airbag going off..you can still see the handle is intact(which is where this rack mounts)

Did you see the pictures in the OP? o_O
Mounting would be what ever you can think up. My plan is to use molle/velcro/straps.
Am also thinking it would make a great platform to mount an arm from for the kids to have a tablet/etc.

^ Okay. in the meantime, could you measure a few things?

    1) Distance from front hole to back hole of the handle
    2) Distance(straight across) from passenger side hole to drivers side hole.

P.S I am designing a new one today that will sit above the back window utilizing the 2 rear holes. I think it will compliment the roof one well :)

This is a cool idea. What about making an E-Track system one as well (for ones who don't need to be tacticool)?
