Hey guys I was wondering if anyone know about Toyota's policy on covering tires under warranty I have a screw in my tire witch is probably not fixable I have an upcoming kayaking trip in Tahoe this weekend so this is perfect timing.
I have a little under 5k on these tires and no it's not time for a whole set of meats. Thanks guys!

Unless you specifically added road hazard and/or specified with some sort of aftermarket/3rd party/extended warranty, it's a definite no.

Not unless it came from the factory like that

Ask yourself: Is that a defect in the tire?

Your paperwork should include a tire manuf warranty, which may or may not include road hazzard.

It is independent of the Toyota warranty.

You don't have a warranty issue, you have a damaged tire from a road hazzard.

They replaced my Rugged Fails on my 2nd Gen because the tires were all split open down between the tread because it was a manufacturer defect, don't think they will replace that unless the Dealer does it out of goodwill

Tires have a warranty from the tire manufacturer but no road hazard unless you purchased that optional like c4lvinn said. That screw is basically in your side wall so I'd use your spare or just buy another tire. There is no need for another set with only 5K on them unless you want to use this as an excuse to get some more aggressive shoes. :). Sorry for the troubles.

Just had same thing happen to me. Bought a used tire off ebay with 9/32 tread (basically new) for $95 shipped. Cost me $10 to get it installed.

Too close to the edge to be repaired IMO. Not a warranty issue as said already. At that mileage you can just replace the single tire.

Shove a plug in it and roll on.

Was a long time ago, but a 53 foot tractor trailer completely filled with nails flipped over on the highway near me.

    The nails spread out everywhere.

Hundreds of people were getting flats for months. I got one myself.

Plugged many tires over the years. Had one near edge like that before and no issue.

I'd keep it in the rear at first.

Same thing happened to me. Ran over something that was just short of missing the sidewall, but it was so small it couldnt be seen. Only 3500 miles. Replaced the tire and bought a warranty for all 4 at my local shop.

Basically what @Clearwater Bill said they give you a brochure in your glove box or in my case the sent it in the mail after the realized on their own that they forgot to put it there. It states everything that is covered and for how long and who to contact to claim it. But you could also just repair it using one of those kits your preference really

It's always been my understanding that rear tire blow outs are far more hazardous than front.

You can always plug that tire and trade places with the Spare Tire.

Yup, it's covered. It is Toyota's fault that you picked that up.
