Beer, Cheese, Camping and Tacos - Wisconsin Meet and B.S. Thread

Hello Wisconsin!!! *that 70's show cast screaming

In an attempt to meet other people who enjoy beer, cheese, camping, and their truck as much as I do, I have decided to create an annual Wisconsin Tacoma meet. So without further ado, here are the details.

When: October 27th, 28th, and 29th (Fri, Sat, Sun)

Where: Mirror Lake State Park (Campsite # will be provided at a later date)

The group campsites are $40 per night for up to 20 people with reservation service charge of $10. We can camp up to 30 people with an additional $20 charge. Unfortunately for those of you with RTTs, the sites are hike-in only, going to have to go old school. I will be collecting payment from those people who want to camp, further information will be provided once I figure out how many people are interested in camping.

The weekend activities will be updated, but here's a rough plan

Friday
Check in, meet and greet, dinner, fire, etc...

Saturday
Coffee/breakfast, Devils Lake, driving on some cool scenic roads, dinner, drinking, etc..

Sunday
Coffee/breakfast, check out

Beer Swap!!! Bring you're favorite craft or micro brew and share it with the Tacoma family

Also keep in mind, a state park sticker is required for camping. Fees will be listed in the links provided.

What we can look forward to in the fall

 

I am off that Friday on paternity leave. So I'll have an infant and unlikely camping, but would head up during the day on Friday if anyone else isn't working and looking to jump start the weekend.

 

I should be off Friday as well, I'd be down to meet up with a few people in Madison and then all convoy up together

 

I'm interested in going.

Unrelated but related - if any of you guys are interested in beer, I'd be eager to do a bottle share. I have a pretty robust collection. It would be nice to do some fancy beer drinking while camping.

 

Count me in. I could go for some camping. Haven't gone in forever.

 

Definitely can do a beer swapping thing I'll bring something as well

 

I work Friday and Sunday that weekend....I potentially can rearrange my shifts, or just hang on Saturday. I work in the Dells area so that's easy enough for me to do. Let me see how these shifts will move around, but mark me for a tentative yes.

My truck will officially be 1 year old on that Sunday the 29th! What a coincidence. It gets to share its first birthday with other tacos.

Alright everyone, this past weekend I checked out Mirror Lake State Park and it looks like it will be a good time, and of course Devils Lake is always fun. I also believe @BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT and @ajmogen may have made a trip up there as well.

The group campsites are all fairly large, have individual areas for tents, and a central fire pit. They are all within very reasonable walking distance to where we have to park, so don't worry if you forget something in your truck you don't have far to go.

As far as payment is concerned, that depends on how many campers we have, outlined below:

3 people - $30 each
4 people - $23 each
5 people - $18 each
6 people - $15 each
7 people - $13 each
8 people - $12 each
9 people - $10 each
And so on...

 

Not sure if I can make it. I'll slap it on the calendar. I don't tent camp anymore. I have a trailer. Still may be possible.
