I heard of guys doing this for better ground clearance. In stock form, it could get smashed and pushed into your fender.

LOL. I bet they consider it an offroad exhaust? Ive been out of the exhaust business for about 7 years, miss it though.

I cut mine off before the axle and had a down turn welded on.

I did this for 2 reasons.
1- I have an auxillary fuel tank where the spare tire goes and the exhuast was in the way.
2- I smashed my exhaust wheeling my truck.

Regarding trapping exhaust gases and having them come into the cab. The only time this is really going to happen is when you're stuck in traffic or at a top light (which is typically less than a few minutes. There are multiple other exhaust pipes ALL around you with exhaust coming into the cab. Just don't hang out under your truck with your head under the exhaust with the engine running for too long.

If you're actually in Kentucky, not just a fan, there's a meet coming up next month at Rush Off Road and another in Oct at Harlan

I used a hacksaw for mine. Couldn't find a sawzall quick enough for my patience

I'm not going to put a tip on mine. I just plan to cut it where it is out of sight. If it looks jagged, I can always file it later, but I don't plan on it being visible enough to matter.

I've honestly never noticed any exhaust smell in the cab. :notsure:

My wife has an unmodified exhaust on her 4Runner pointing straight back. If you roll the back window down you'll be dead in about 5min. I'm surprised there haven't been lawsuits over that.

exhaust vapors, which may be very corrosive, can end up on all of the metal behind the tips.

I know it's not noticeable but I love the way ol dude looks with the black tip but it will be pointless because who will see it unless they look for it

Any worries about heat dumping out on the spare tire?

I like to leave my truck running when hooking up my boat/trailer/etc. The stock exhaust does a great job of keeping fumes away from hitch and rear gate.

I have actually given thought to curving the tip before the rear tire rather than after... personally I dont mind the drone at all and I like to hear when to shift.
