I agree with your answer, but how many people in here asking about running hydro bumps are taking the time to shorten the stroke and tune them? I'd say no one who is asking if you can run them will be doing that. People with knowledge on the subject that's a different story. I think most peope are saying if the person asking the question is gonna call king, order an off the shelf bump stop, and more than likely install without even cycling their suspension then yes running a rubber bump stop will in my opinion be a better choice as it will atleast not being riding on the lca during all your bump travel. I think most questions being answered in here are geared towards the guy who gonna throw lt on their truck and hit some fire roads once a month. Not the guy bucking his shit at jump champs. I'm not saying run rubber on a race truck where you've also gotta take shock fade among other things into account. But for the trucks that will be running bypasses and spend far more time on the road than in the dirt. Rubber will be the way to go.

I agree 100%. But this doesnt sound anything like "ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer", sounds like quite an intelligent discussion to me. The problem with this thread is most take opinion and turn it into truth, then get mad if someone else disagrees. There used to be a lot of intelligent discussion, not so much anymore

I'd post some pics but all my stuff is on photobucket, RIP.

People are just saying its a bit of a waste of $ if your bump is all the way up against the frame. It will have to have such a short stroke it won't act much different than squishing a rubber bump.

That and production kits will have the bump pad in a set location, close to the frame, so striking at a different spot on the arm will require modification.

Speaking of, I saw you have a TTORA link, I noticed today it seems like all the TTORA pictures are just gone, no photobucket error or anything it is just blank space where photos used to be

Photobucket stopped and blocked all third party image linking unless you want some premium account that I want to say was in the hundreds of $ a month. Was showing the photobucket default error image, maybe TTORA did something to purge the images or something? Heard that forum was done? I liked their garage section concept with OP posts only for a clean build thread.

I agree these discussions are good but every week it's new people asking the same questions over and over again. Much of what I know about tacomas came from this thread, but it came from investing the time into searching and reading it. Theirs threads dedicated to whether or not a 2" kit is best for your truck or a 3.5 kit is ideal. But no ones what's to find the answer for themselves. They just want to come in here and ask the same question someone else asked 3 days ago. This thread is awesome for sharing issues you have with your build or cool ideas you've come up with, or bouncing ideas off more knowledgeable people's heads.

What's the best kit for driving through woops at 80mph, crawling through the Hammers, expo trips from Alaska and Argentina all while towing a 30ft trailer? Pretty sure I can do all those things with the same truck right?

    Sorry, I had to.

I have a friend who won't stop asking me this very question but instead of a truck he want's a Jeep. As is his Jeep will not stop overheating with any slight incline.

One if the many reasons the early JKs sucked ass, they didn't come with a transmission cooler and overheated on any long incline. If he's got one of those he needs to install a cooler ASAP, if he keeps pushing it hell burn his transmission fluid. Ask me his I know.

100% this. And then when you give a sarcastic answer or tell them to search for it instead of you answering for the 100th time, some snowflakes get upset and complain that they don't have time to go look through thousands of pages of info (or use Google apparently). It's no wonder the regulars in here are so fuckin salty lol.
Now, new people coming here asking for genuine advice or have off the wall questions that a quick Google search can't find, I'd jump right in to helping.
I too learned what I know spending hours reading through thousands of pages of LT threads and reading people's builds and getting an idea for what I wanted, I don't fuckin claim to be an expert on anything related to LT, but I do know some shit.

Unfortunately to some degree, other folks might consider the "BS" section to be the safe zone to ask these questions although the LT section IMO is much more technical for good reason than any other portion that I have encountered in TW. They got to learn the search function sometime. I say this, but Im still about as green as it gets in the LT arena myself.

I'm getting a Total Chaos +3.5 race kit w/ Icons soon. What bump stops would go good with this kit? I know it comes with adapters to make stock bumps work, but I'd rather upgrade them
