Well, I put my 14 year old lab down today, and well I want to make myself feel better :)

I want these wheels on ebay:

OEM Toyota 4Runner/FJCruiser TRD Pro 17" MATTE BLACK Wheel Set PTR20-35110-BK

I just want to make certain these fit perfectly.

Also, how do I get my wheels to stick out about 1/2"? What are the pro's and cons of that? I sure like the way it looks when it's 1/2" to 1" out

I also plan on swapping out my newer Toyo stock tires for a set of BF Goodrich when I get these.

    thanks all!

The wheels will fit fine, not sure on spacers as I have never run them. And the Ebay link doesn't work.

I haven't heard good things about spacers, I thought it had to do with other factors. gonna go research!

Bora makes a 3/4" spacer, and that's the smallest that I know of for these trucks. As long as you properly torque them and re-check them every so often, you'll be fine. Depending what tire size you go, it may cause you to rub your mud flaps.

Then you may rub your front mud flaps a little. A lot of factors come into play, so it's impossible to definitively say. If you have no problem potentially removing mud flaps, then a 1" spacer would look real nice.

I dont have mud flaps, unless you mean the inside protection, and I thought that was the biggest tire you can go on stock suspension without rubbing? I don't want to do any cutting, but I also don't need to do spacers. I can simply get these rims and run 265 70R17 and it should be perfect...i would think.

Ah, I was under the assumption all trucks came with mud flaps. The +1" size you're reffering to is indeed the largest tire you can run, with the caveat of it has to be on stock wheels. Once you get into aftermarket wheels that stick out farther, then you get the possibility of rubbing.

OK. Ya and these are TRD OEM wheels so they should be the same specs. Guess I should check them out!

If you get just the wheels, you shouldn't rub at all. It's the spacers that add that potential, but you said you don't have mud flaps so you should be fine.

I'm sorry about your Lab. That's hard when you have had one so long.
