yeah, i emailed with them a little to try to get them to send one to me but no luck...with the idea/install i have in my head the projecta will be the cleanest looking,, but i am starting to look at others.... also just found out about this dc-dc thing, so of course im trying to read up and look at specs... and installs i can find on the internet

 

Does anyone have any install instructions for the wiring of the Blue Sea Switch?




My kit gets here today and I'm doing the install tomorrow.

 

PS. You do not need the isolation wires for most applications. Cut them and cap them.

do the 2016+ tacomas have a smart alternator(voltage sensing) or just a regular one???

 

@HeliMedic, does your split system work with Group 27 batteries too? My power needs won't be that great and I know weight can be an issue with the inner fenders. Thanks!

 

BCDC charger that redarc makes is top notch kit, As well they make really nice inverters! Can't wait to see what is in the works guys!

I have a simple projecta kit on my Mitsubishi pajero while I am traveling in Australia. It's a simple redarc battery box with a 110ah AGM battery and a projecta battery isolator kit. It just runs my 60l fridge 24/7 and charges a few accessories when in the bush.

I really look forward to get back home and start planning a dual battery system for my Tacoma, your kits @HeliMedic are super clean and can't wait to get one in the works!

 

Been meaning to post up in here. Fantastic workmanship on the OGE gear, everything installed so clean and was straight forward. I've had mine setup for a couple of months that now and its been flawless. I'm finally getting ready to hook up an Indel B fridge soon too, which was one of my main future upgrades that this was planned for.
@HeliMedic I need to contact you this week to see what your lead time is on e blue sea bed outlet with wiring.

 

@HeliMedic Do you make/sell a wiring harness for the Blue Sea Switch that goes in the cab? Also, I am also interested in the blue sea bed outlet. Do you sell these with the wiring harness as well?

Has anyone considered/tried to move the factory fuse box back towards the firewall at all? I only need about 2 inches to put both of my batteries side by side. From what I can tell I have plenty of slack in the factory harness and it mounts in two places, one on the inner fender well and one on the batter holder. I can fab something up to support the fuse box in its new location. Please pass on your thoughts on this, thanks.

 

As far as I know, it is not a "smart alternator"

 

The Group 35 is largest battery that will fit in the passenger side tray.

As far as the drivers side... I run a Group 31 in mine... and so do a lot of my customers and friends. The inner fenders have held up fine in all of our rigs. It just depends on how you use your truck. Mine is used for "Overlanding" with the occasional difficult trail standing in between me and my camp spot.

 

WOW! Very nice install! You've got a lot of stuff going on under there. Kudos for keeping it clean.

There is very little for lead time on the outlet systems. A couple days max.

 

The harness that I make for the in-cab switch is wired directly to the ACR. So, I do not make one that I can send out. BUT, I can wire your ACR for a switch if you send it to me. I do it all the time for folks. The cost is $80 right now and that covers materials and labor.

 

Still, if I wanted to keep my set up light weight, will the battery trays work with a smaller group 27?

 

The Group 27 is one of the larger batteries you can get for an automotive application. The Group 31 is the only one physically larger that is commonly available. The Group 35 is one of the smaller batteries in the whole lineup. Thats why I said a Group 35 is the largest battery you can fit in my passenger side tray for the Tacoma.

I know, the group sizes don't make sense...
