Looking to buy my first RTT. Have an opportunity to buy a Kukenam XL ruggedized for significantly less than new.

    Question:
Have not even seen one up close before, what do I want to check to make sure it's in good condition?

Do you guys feel top heavy when rock crawling over 1-3 foot obstacles? Does it feel like it wants to roll over the the RTT L.

    Thanks

not me, my bars are mid length allowing the bottom of the tent just a few inches below the roof line for reference. I'd bet it's quite extraordinary with a RTT above the cab, full rotopaxs, 5 pairs of Maxtrak's, killer spork, all hanging off of the sides of the bed rack. Then add solar panel(s) and over the cab length pelican cases...

I plan on building my own rack for an RTT around that height. Yours looks great.

Are there any specs for bar spacing I'd need to follow for any particular RTT? I'm not sure how they mount. Are they all pretty adaptable to any rack? Thanks.

Here it is! I think this YAAO knockoff is actually pretty nice, but I haven't really spent a lot of time in other people's RTTs. I finally got the rack built for the trailer and painted up, stuck this up there today and drove around at 70MPH and deployed it twice, it's so fast and easy compared to a ground tent, my wife, kid and I are stoked to try this out soon.

I spent an insane amount of time on the trailer, color matching, striping, and flat black painting / bedlinering everything. All bolts on the trailer are Grade 8 for strength, and the gold color matches my build. This was actually an old boat trailer I bought from someone for $150 and have spent the last year remodeling. Everything is modular, and the RTT rack system can be converted to hold other things like ladders, lumber, kayaks. I can't wait to camping, these RTTs are a conversation starter :)

My bars are 10" high. For bar spacing they are all equal distance apart, with the full length of the rack being the same as the length of the tent.

Thanks, looking forward to trying it out. I was able to deploy the RTT in about 5 minutes and pack up in about 10. Man! This is gonna be great.

Finally mounted the custom maxtrax mounts that cbi made me for their overland bars. They did an awesome job on these. Also got a bike mount as well as hilift mount. Making these suckers pretty functional
