Hi, I'm downsizing from my Titan into a Taco and I currently have 2 options.

    1) 2010 TRD DC LB with 12k
    2) 2009 TRD DC LB with 28k

The price difference is 6k but the 09 has a folding type tonneau cover (which I want anyway)

I'm leaning towards the 09 because it's less expensive, and I like the color better (White vs Silver)...plus I don't have to buy the tonneau.

The only difference I could SEE was that the 2010 had Pirelli's and the 09 had Bridgestones.

    Any other changes in 2010

    What do ya think?

    THANKS!!!

Go for the 09. If the only good thing about the 2010 is the tires... well... thats just a moot point. I mean, 6k can get you plenty tires anyhow. As for the mileage, the only thing I can say is that in my experience, mileage means nothing to these trucks. Here in PR ive put about 33k miles on the truck in just one year. Since the roads here suck so much, 33k miles here, is the same as like 66k miles in the US anywhere... so yeah, take the 09, the 28k miles is nothing and the warranty that Toyota gives sucks anyhow, so the remainder of the warranty means nothing.

'09 for sure. You can do a lot with the $6k as far as mods go (including some really nice wheels.) You already said you like the color more and it's comes with the cover you want. Post pics after you bring it home!!

No other changes made for 2010?????...something I might have missed?

Sorry not Bridgestones...they were BFGoodrich Rugged Trails...not a great tire but I'd roll them until the tread died then get some Toyos.

I'm going easy on the mods this time.

I dropped about 25k in mods on my Titan and it dramatically DECREASED the resale value.

I had a 6" Procomp lift, AR Teflon wheels and 37" Cooper STT's and on and on...I got hooked.

Was a beautiful truck but w/all that rolling mass...the mileage was killing me.

Will probably get some AR Teflons and a set of Toyo OC's.....what is the biggest tire size on a stock Taco TRD??? 33"???.

That seems like a pretty big difference in price from what I saw when I was shopping. New vs two years old with the options I wanted were within 3k of each other. Miles from 12-40k. I went new.

I assume these are both sports due to the LB. Are they at the same place? Is one 2wd? Just seems awfully large difference IMO.

Go for the 09. I think the cup holders are the same. The change difference are 05-08 and 09-10. Miles should not matter much for a truck that will go forever.

My first truck was a Toyota...it was just called TRUCK...there was no name!

It was a 92 and I went over 200k and sold it for 6k...still going strong.

You think they would at least have named the thing.

Went to the garage and they asked what model it was and I said "TRUCK" and they looked at me like I was a nutbar.

Glad to be coming back to Yota!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy the 09 and lock in some good APR with a good credit union. Toyota financial will rape you depending on your credit score.

The cupholders are different. Mine is the 10 and they are different from my friend's which is an 09.

Go for the 09 and save the money if you like the color and bed cover more anyway!
