It don't matter what you do mike. If the end is under the fender the air filter will be hammered. My stock intake was roughly where you have it to now and I still had my plastic liners in and all the dirt roads on the way to, during, and after Moab rekt it. Just check it on occasion and bang it on the tire to knock some crud out. Or carry an extra one no big deal. The west is dusty and it gets in no matter what haha been dry since been dry since been dry

You might have banged up your metal dust shield and it's hitting the inside of the rotor. Or there's stuff caught between the rotor and that dust shield.

Sounds like a rock is stuck in the rotor. Remove the caliper with a 17mm socket and remove the rotor. Clean throughly and pru back together

    Hey Matt.

Don't do what Hunter suggests. At least not initially.

Do the easy things first, then work your way through the troubleshooting process systematically.

First try to locate the source of the noise before you remove anything. It may not even be the brakes or in that general area.

If you feel it's around the wheel/brake area, then pull off the wheel and inspect the area.

Rotate the rotor by hand to see if you can duplicate the noise to some extent.

    You may hear/feel the rubbing.

Then check for crud, rocks or a possible bent brake dust shield.

Then go ahead and try to wash off the area, pry off the rock(s) or re-bend the dust shield.

If that doesn't work, and the noise continues in the brake/rotor area, then go ahead and start pulling the rotor to further investigate.

Before messing with the brakes, make sure you have brake cleaner handy.

    Good luck man!

Does it sound like the squealing coming from my truck at the end of this vid? That was a rock between the rotor and backing plate.

Pulling the wheel caliper and rotor off is MAYBE an hour job start to finish... id rather pull it all off even if there was nothing in there and make sure there was nothing in there. Im not exactly sure why he needs brake clean for after he gets whatever Is causing the noise out... unless his brakes are covered in oil or severe brake dust there is no meed for brake kleen

 i didn't say it could be in there. The pads practically rest on the rotor. But it is possible to get little pebbles and shit usually as you know itll clear itself. But sometimes there is too much sand.

Pulling the caliper is to remove the rotor. Instead of fighting with a rock behind the caliper between the dust shield with a screw driver or pry bar take the extra minute to remove the 2 caliper bolts and remove the rotor... way easier in my eyes. Then the shit just falls out.

It's gonna be funnier than shit if Matt @Tatts521 pulls the caliper and rotor off and cleans it and the noise is still there.

Matty will probably have to pull the caliper/rotor again to find that tiny, tiny, tiny rock.

I have a magnifying glass you can borrow Matt.

    LMAO
