Ask @nj636 if he can make you some hubs with really long studs. Then just run dually out to Colorado

@Tatts521 You just have to drive around in reverse and it will fix itself.

How many engines have you pulled and put back in the car? How many times have you done an engine rebuild? Clutch replacement? Rebuilt bearings? Hubs? Trailer brakes? Truck brakes? Youve just started doing anything... Ive been at it since well before I was even driving. At 13 I was doing brake jobs with my neighbor in his driveway on weekends when I went to my dads house. About the only thing I can't do is gears. But my buddy owns a gear and axle shop so I don't have to...

I wouldn't really call you the voice of reason for much of anything aside from over doing safety and getting stuck.

Yes im being a dick now

I never said it was stuck in the caliper. Removing the caliper frees up the rotor. C'mon Jon you know that...

That's exactly what I was thinking, and that's what @Urineovrurhead did and it seemed to work pretty well without having to cut up any fenders (that being said, would gladly cut up fender for a snorkel)

That's why I got rid of my dust shield when we swapped spindles haha

Sooooo new noise has come up. audible squeak when reversing. It is rotational, as it only happens when I am moving. after speaking to @nj636 I thought my wheel bearing wasn't tight enough, so I tore it apart and it was as far as I could get it ( cheater bar over 17mm wrench). (sorry Lloyd). I did notice my break pads were flipped from the reassembly the first time, and the metal clip on the left side was on the opposite end. This was not my issue. So after research, i'm thinking u joints, or maybe carrier bearing? Noise only happens in reverse, which is the strangest thing.

Maybe rear brake drum? That is the only thing that I know that works different in reverse.

Then how can you say that I am the voice of stupid? Im no 40 year master mechanic but I can walk circles around the every day driveway DIY guy. I used to only be good with Engine work until I realized it was easy to do the other shit.

So I had a friend stand outside my truck as I moved it forward and then back, and the source of the noise is definitely from the center of my truck. center underneath specifically.

after reading this, https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/squeaking-noise-in-reverse.46885/ i'm definitly suspecting U joints

Now I get to learn about replacing U joints :) might replace the carrier bearing while i'm there as well.

I LOL'd at work in a quiet office environment so thank you for that

    You're welcome.

I thought I'd make your day since you've had a crappy week or so with the bearing explosion and now the undercarriage noise.

We call you the voice of stupid because you never know when to keep your mouth shut or let things go. It doesn't matter if you were 13 or 113 when you started working on cars, that conversation is so 3 days ago
