Good morning folks. Sipping coffee, getting ready for work. I really wanted to take today off, but I still have some cleanup to finish from the micro-burst last week and next week I'll be running grader on the roads in Quartzsite. The week after that I'll be on vacation and nowhere in the state so I need to get what I can cleaned up before the 20th.

I guess the common ground between the northeast and the southwest is, we know when our extreme weather is coming even though it's the total opposite weather.

I talked to Az Game and Fish about unicorn tags. They sell them, they're expensive but there's no bag limit....and nobody can find them.

I need to shoot a 'corn someday....

Yeah on the intranet page at work just looked and the lows there are warmer than our highs with triple digits everyday in the forecast. Right now my butt is puckering at the thought of below freezing let alone below zero. Hopefully get some slow adjustment to it this year. I swear it is getting worse each year hurry up global warming. Gets too bad might say the hell with it and throw the dogs in the truck and head South this time.

It seems our swap over from spring to summer is about 15 minutes. We'll go from a mild 70 degrees to 100+ over night almost. And somewhere in Dec-Jan I'll have about 10-14 days of jacket wearther, but that's a long time and about 80 degrees away....and when I do bag a unicorn, I gotta figure out how to grill and smoke it (not many recipes online).

I ran studded snow tires (Nokian & Hankook) my first 8 yrs here. Switched to Blizzak studless around the same time I retired from active duty; I'll never go back to studded tires. I've had friends speak highly of the Michelin X-Ice as well, but I've never run them myself.

Got to the office, got a text from a guy that I was hoping was going help me saying he was taking some flex time...so I put the shell back on my truck and came back home...didn't wanna work anyway.

I guess I may be working afterall. Quartzsite got 2" of rain in a 3 hour timeframe. I'm already going Monday, but I heard we had some micro-bursts there too so I may have to go take pictures of damage....we'll see what reports I get back in the next couple of hours.

I'm sorry I'm being lazy this morning. I got a call last night at 10 that my Mother had fallen and hit her head and gashed it open and was being loaded into an ambulance so I had to get dressed and go to the hospital. I didn't get home until around 3:30 this morning.
