I was wondering if anyone ever changed out the lights in the mirrors to LEDs that run white when the truck is running and turn amber when you signal? (Switchbacks)

I'm pretty sure ur mirror lights don't turn on when you have your lights on. They only come on when you use ur turn signal.

I'm just going to revive just in the small chance to see if anyone has any ideas, my Tacoma's mirrors stay on with the drls, was thimking about doing switch backs for the turn signals but if I do that I want to do switch backs in the mirrors as well.

    Thanks for any insight!

That's interesting. I made a modification to my mirror turn signals to have them turn on with the parking lights but also work as turn signals. If you are looking for switchbacks, these might work for you. (I don't have them, someone else saw them and posted the link in a thread of mine)

I have identified the parking light and turn signal wires on the plug on my 2012. I'm curious how the 2014 is wired. It sounds like the mirror lights are simply wired the same as the DTRL. I'm not a big fan of the switchbacks but I'm sure there are lots of people who do like them so keep us posted as far as what you end up doing!

Oh you are a TRD sport huh? I'm an Off-Road so had to hard wire them in. Yeah I'm still contemplating switch backs (might look really good on my black and chrome build) or even if I can find a more powerful LED for the mirrors as the stock ones don't light up very well :( sucks too that how I had them wire then is that my mirror lights turn off when I turn my headlights all the way on  the one time of day they would look amazing!

Did you install the led switchbacks on your mirrors?

It does look "easy" as it has 3 wires red for orange, blue for white, black for ground. And the passenger has longer wiring. If you know how to wire I think you could easily do it

Opening an old thread up here, but did you manage to install the 2-in-1 LED turn signals? I was checking them out and haven't seen anybody install them yet.
