Does the plasti dip glossifier (to your knowledge) peel off as well? or does that dry hard?

What do you mean by "wet out" each coat? I did my emblems this weekend without removing them from the truck. I think they look great, but the V6 badge got a little bump at the bottom from overspray running down as it dried. Also when poking out the middle of the A and O and whatnot, a little bit of the dip was peeled off the top edges of those letters. Other than that looks good, next time I would remove them before and use a blade to cut out of the holes. Will "wetting out" fix these issues?

It still peels off. Did my rims messed up have some lifted edges and they peel fine.

I just posted this in the Inferno thread but seems suitable to be posted here as well. Thanks to everyone before me for the color matching and tips.

The durp n looks good man, but the storm trooper trumps anything I've seen haha. :headbang:

Looks good man, the black trd pro lights would set that off. I've seen a few guy dip the chrome inside the head light fixture

About how much of the plasti dip does it take to do all the badges and such on the truck, would you recommend taking them off to do it or just leave them on?

I used abs overlays on my badges, that was before i knew about plasti dip. But I would leave them on just clean and dry well. Spray on then use tooth pick to cut the edges and to make sure they peel cleanly and not peel off the lettering.

As for how many cans I used nearly 1 can on my grill, and from reading up on in on hear and online you'd probably use 1 on badges so 2 cans total. But also depends on how you spray. I would get one extra just in case then return it if you don't use it. Keep your receipt.

Did you put anything on it after you plasti dipped it, like a protective spray or anything. Or just clean the surface real well and dip it and done? Looking to order some and do it this weekend is there anything else I may want to order with it?

So far for everything I've dipped I've used their glossifier. I really like the way it looks with it. It's not super glossy if you stay at 2 coats. I did more I think 4 on my dash parts and that got a more glossy look which was what I wanted.

I have ordered some dip coat from dipyourcar.com to try. It's supposed to remove the rubbery feel and give it some added protection and or longevity. But haven't gotten it yet to try out.

Yea I saw the dip coat and the couple reviews on their site about it look good. Might be something I'd like to try. Don't know how much it's worth it though for just a few badges. I'm looking for more of a matte look so I'll probably skip the glossifier I've read others on here using that quite a bit though.

Yeah the dip coat could be used either way. The matte look was ok honestly even that had a slight shiny to it more than I thi k a matte look should but wasn't bad.

First of all I love how this QS color looks like two completely different colors in the light. That's why I bought the color.
Second, the black is great but I think black needs a little bling to pop. That's why I'm keeping some chrome on the limited.
Third and most importantly for me, this forum sucks a huge hole in your wallet and time. I mean, I've had boats that are easier on me than this! :D I had no intention on doing any mods and then I started reading this forum. Now I'm considering black badges! My wife is about ready to kick my ass out! Plasti dip is going to be my new best friend. Not just for the Taco either! Mower wheels, boat, camper, etc.

Looks really good... I wish toyota would do it as standard but oh well. Also wish all the other little parts around door locks and window controls and center console and steering wheel weren't such a pain to remove I'd love to get those colored as well.
